So i understand a general theory of how a joystick works but how do you divide it into 4 quadrants where you can morph between 4 voices? Would this mean you have 4 vcas?

Im really keen to get this happening as im building a distortion unit that has 4 main distortion types and it would be awesome to have a 4quad panner

does anyone know any schematics or tips on how to create this?

googlesearch only reveals that planB are releasing a professional module for this now
i cant find any other resources for this problem

any help would be amazing

one option would be Ken's joystick controller X4, with each output controlling the gain of a VCA.

you could also set up the joystick as a mixer.
Maybe the hardest part is finding a joystick with 4 pots mounted. They do exist!
