Thanks guys. I have been wanting to play some of Aaron's music. Chris McDonald (The Allison Project, Yakuza Cowboys) is a close friend of his and asked Aaron if it was OK to play his stuff on my show and Aaron was gracious enough to give me the go ahead.

I believe Aaron was also building a Klee, with the aid of Chris, and has also purchased some of my PC boards .... I hope he makes good use of the modules Cool

Bill

Aaron has a HUGE modular that I built him, the material your playing is all pre-modular though.

Good choices though, I am on two of those records Smile

Chris, thats for filling in the blanks for us. Certainly, the material using the modulars can be used on another show then Wink Between your HUGH modular and Aaron's HUGH modular, you were (ARE) and BUSY man !!! Was the Klee finished BTW?

See you in the chat .... you can maybe supply the guys with more information about Aaron and your personal coolaborations with him .... That would be great ! Cool

Thanks Chris

Oh yeah the Klee was built right away. It has been in his system for well over a year now I'd think.

Bill, that was an awesome, energetic show last night. I'm glad you're airing all these different artists, I doubt I'd know about them otherwise.

Thanks for the show support Very Happy

Thats whats it's all about, exposure. Experiencing new artists and their music. There is lots of talent around, we just have to dig around for it. I use to spend 4 to 6 hours every weekend in the records shops around the Island and in New York City downtown village area.

Thanks Rob Very Happy I have a bunch of Venetian Snares CD's and the way I acquired them was through bartering them for some electronics goods. Some PC boards and parts I think it was. I was expected maybe two or three Cd's but he ended up sending like 6 or 7 CD's. Very generous of him to do that.

Keep your eyes on the thread here. I am cooking up some cool stuff for hte next show. Wink

Thanks for your continued support.

On Tuesday September 15, 2009 I am proud to feature the music of Jose Murcia of "Symmetry" and his experimental recording "Room 103"

Jose Murcia (aka: JEM)

Two years ago, Jose Murcia (a.k.a. JEM ) was invited to submit work to WGXC FM in Brooklyn, New York. He was instantly captivated by their efforts to promote Transmission Arts and any artists "who explore the idea of transmission and the physical properties of the electromagnetic spectrum for creative expression".

For quite some time, he had already been toying with the idea of creating an entire recording using only radio sounds and this was the perfect opportunity. He found an ancient ham radio in a trash dump which was still in good working condition and used it as the catalyst for the project. Combined with the sounds of a 50 year-old transistor radio, he created a huge palette of sounds which he sampled and manipulated electronically to create tones, rhythms and soundscapes. The end result is "Room 103”, an ambient exploration into the intricacies of radio transmission.

Symmetry has three different manifestations: either as a solo, duo or trio. As a soloist, JEM dabbles in many different styles, up to and including ambient, experimental, space music. As a duo, JEM and JR (John Rivera) blend these elements with more conventional styles and, as a trio led by Sisco Kid, they alternate between a fusion of Funk, Jazz, Techno and Hip- Hop. With the exception of Sisco's voice and alto sax, they consistently remain true to their form as electronic musicians.

=================================================

The second half of the show features chip music from Adam Waclawski (Wacek). The tunes are created with HardSID and are very creative and inspiring.

Thanks Bill for posting these pictures.
The one from EM2006 was taken during my performance with Fringe Element, I'm the faceless guy in the middle wearing a cap.
JR is at the sound board at the bottom of the picture.
For those interested in hearing more Symmetry, I have a recording availabe here at the Electro-Music store called "Parallel Alegories".
The music is more conventional than "Room 103", but the arrangement of
different styles back to back is very odd for some people. Fans of early British rock and 80's Synth Pop seem to gravitate to it.
You can also hear me play on Holosphere and Fringe Element which also have CDs available at the store. These recordings are much closer to the ambience you've experienced in Room 103.

Thanks, Jan and Skrog.
And thanks, Wacek for sharing your music with us.
I plan to spend the next few days browsing through your MP3s.
I really like the unique, minimalist approach to the music featured on this radio station and I look forward to submitting more relevant material in the near future.

Given enough ingenuity, there are many great musical possibilities to
discover even with the most basic and primitive of instruments,...whether they were designed for musical purposes or not.
Also, even though I prefer to bend sound instead of circuits, I hope that this show attracts and inspires circuit benders.

Thank you guys. Your a great support network and consider you all good friends ....

Right now, we are taking care of my mom who is receiving end of life care. Thank God the pain medications keep the breakthrough pain to a minimum.

I don't mind sharing this on the open forum since death is part of life.

Sincerely
Bill
