PICs of some of my CGS modules |
|
|
I thought it might be of interest to post some pics of CGS modules I built. To save paneƶ space I've labeld my CGS38 "Metalshop" as stated on it's pcb.
Also done are:
Dual Slope, Dual ASR and Analogic all in Frac
and:
Modulo Magic and Matrix Mixer in MOTM-sized but with mini jack.

Thanks! I really love your serge style panels posted over at Muff's!
For me it's to build or to play my synth. Thus I just gave the CGS38 a real try after having read your post. Yes, it's way cool but since it needs pos. waveforms for freq. doubling I'm thinking of an add on to off set my -2,5V/2,5V waveforms.
The Burst Gen. is one of my absolute fav. So much fun and diversity.
The Dig Noise is way cool. I added a switch so change the resistor which determines the speed. However, even with my 20M resistor it can go as high as with the 1M (from memory) so the switch is actually unnecessary. |

e-grad,
would you mind sharing the fpds you've designed for your panels? I'd really like to have that serge-style potentiometer graphic you're using on these panels.
How do you make graphics like this for fpd? Do you import them as HPGL from another program? |

I happily share those file! The actual swoosh around the pots were not done by myself but by Rainer, however, I can share his graphics for non commercial purposes. Thus I think it's fine for him to make them available here.
Mind you I did the lettering for the Lorin switch (Burst Gen.). Next to the bigger hole for the actual switch you'll find a small hole to hold the small pin which stabilizes the Lorin switch.
In case anyone will use these files for an order with Schaeffer pls NOTE:
- Hence my moniker as a replacement character and change for your own one or giving Ken more credit than I did with my sole CGS.
- The holes for the jacks will hold Kobiconn jacks but they are extremely close together. Even more on the back than on the front which might be uncomfortable for wiring. It's prone for shorts if one doesn't work carefully!
- The distance of the pots (CGS38) will allow you to use Bridechamber mounting brackets.

Thanks e-grad. I've been wanting this graphic for some Serge style CGS panels I'm planning. Plus, you never know these HPGL graphics might be helpful. I have small collection of vintage synth graphic HPGL odds and ends; logos, ARP, Moog, etc. |

Here you are with some more fpd files.
Schaeffer panels are expensive. In case you're ordering a panel with one of these files pls check that everything suits your needs.
As stated above place change my moniker!

Hi e-grad,
great panels and thanks a lot for sharing the .fpd file, that really nice!
Could I add an additional ask? Would you be able to supply the serge style pot graphics as HPGL? As far as I know there's no easy way to export this from FPD but I'd like to use the graphic in another designer program....
FYI its called:
serge_normal_dot_20mm.htm (from the .fpd's file properties!)
Thanks in advance

Thanks for your kind words!
I haven't done the serge style graphics on my own. They wre done for me and for some reason beyond my understanding they never reached me as HPGL-files even though I can treat them as such.
I think you can copy and paste them. At least within FPD it should be possible. I just looked up: I have these graphics as firefox docs even though I doubt they were sent as such to me. |

Hi,
OK, I thought you had imported the hpgl files into the .fpd. But I guess if they are stored as htm then its probably not possible.
No worries, I will put my graphic designer hat on this weekend
