Helllo,

I'm trying to use a NRev ugen for reverb. The documentation is unclear about the .mix range. It states "float", but I'm not sure what the practical limits are? I'm feeding in values from 0 to .99 and it seems that larger numbers (.40+) cause it to start clipping. However, I do hear that the reverb continues to get more intense, which I really like.

My chuck looks something like this:

buf[0] => ADSR adsr => NRev reverb => dac;

Nevermind the ADSR. It doesn't seem to be involved in the clipping. Simply modulating the reverb.mix value causes the nasty clipping.

Thanks,
- Bret

Does lowering the Reverb's .gain decrease clipping?
If yes, it's the clipping at dac because the overall amplitude is more than 1 (or less than -1).

Normally, i can set Reverb's .mix to any value. So if i want to control it not to clip, i usually try adjusting the overall volumn of the patch first, especially by lowering it. then try adjusting Reverb's .mix to the range of values we need, then if it still clips, i lower the overall volumn again.
