While I was messing around with my CV modulation source that uses a 40106 as the main oscillators, I found adding a diode in either direction across the input and output pins you can get a rising or falling saw wave on the input pin and a 1ms trigger on the output pin. Using a resistor in series with the diode changes the shape/duty cycle. I would not recommend using a potentiometer for variable shape control as it flops out with a change in frequency.

The sawtooth wave form must be buffered with offset/gain controls for a symmetrical wave form. If you add this buffer to my 40106 VCO I posted on the lunetta forum it will work the same way.

So I guess it's time to make 6 VCO sawtooth core oscillators module? Smile Now if I could only figure out how to make them thru-zero....
