Hi all!

I'm just back from my first encounter with Winther-Stormer in concert at Amatøren in Oslo. Got to know about this one only a few days ago here at electo-music.com. So today I rounded up some friends and off we went to the gig. The venue was very small and the enthusiast crowd of no more than 40-50 people ensured a nice an relaxed athmosphere.

The band features four musicians with Atle Pakusch and Geir Marthin Helland on guitars and drums, but tonight it was the pair of Terje Winther and Erik Stormer alone. They brought a whole collection of modulars and a good stack of keyboards. The whole rig is strictly analogue and manually operated!

It started off in a pleasing traditional style, with some growling drones and sequences and flutterings - it sounded really cool. It went on developing, and Winther took on the old Mini Moog to give us a bit of a treat. Stormer was hard at work patching in flight and grooving good. It is impossible to remember the exact progress of things, but they carried on with more of the good stuff. One of the pieces built up to an astonishing rich droning song of the modulars. Another had a quite wild part with Winther-Stormer playing, patching and twiddling through a bubbling and screaming streak of madness. Towards the end it seemed like they let things go slightly their own ways, and they finished off by taking the aural voyage to a soft landing. Throughout there were sequenced passages, synth playing and sounds aplenty. It was obvious that W&S enjoyed themselves thoroughly, as did the audience. Unfortunately the accoustics of the place were not very good, but still the music came through.

This is the stuff that warms our electro-music hearts Very Happy

It must be mentioned that their modulars are largely of their own make, and they sound fabuolous! Check it all out on their site, the Winther-Stormer homepage:
