We are very pleased to announce that after a long delay, the popular Klee Sequencer circuit boards are again available on the electro-music.com store.

http://electro-music.com/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/54/products_id/101

We should have plenty on hand for everyone. Thanks all, for your patience.

UPDATE (1-12-2015) Klee boards are unavailable at this time. All back orders will receive a refund. We have worked out an arrangement to partner with Synthcube to handle these board sets in the future. There will be a post on this forum when they become available. Sorry for these long delays and lack of shipment.

When in doubt, order. Even if you never build a Klee, you'll help us pay the bills.

Last time they sold out pretty fast. Very Happy

Also, when you do build, the support network here is very quick to help with any problems you have with getting your Klee sequencer up and fully functional. I always have a spare part of two so feel free to mail me about an extra part you may need if you acdentaily let the magic smoke out of one or two ... free of charge of course .. Wink

All the support is greatly appreciated Cool

Boards arrived in excellent shape in Sundbyberg, Sweden last week. They look scrumptious, just begging to be populated once the berry and mushroom picking (Chanterelles FTW!) is over with and fall is here. Thanks mosc!

Hello all!

Sorry to have to tap the shoulder of a sleeping thread, but I'm somewhat interested in the Klee and *think* I would like to embark upon the adventure of building one. Unfortunately, I'm not really much of a DIY'er so I need some advice on whether I should even consider taking on this kind of project.

First off, my only experience with anything similar might be a couple of PAIA kits and the occasional minor soldering work. But sadly I have no idea what to expect from a circuit-board-only project!

So my questions are:

- Is there easy-to-follow documentation or would some level of engineering experience be required? (I found that PAIA usually made this pretty straightforward) And if not, is there somewhere to get some kind of guide to help with the translation so I can properly source the parts and perform the assembly correctly?
- Would a novice stand a chance at being able to follow the circuit board diagrams?
- And the big question: From where would I get professionally etched front panels? I have no means of manufacturing them myself and I'd hate to invest all the time building this only to end up with a poster-board front panel marked with Dymo labels!

Sorry to spoil a perfect thread with all these silly little questions, but after playing with the Klee software in the virtual world I can't help wanting to experience one in the physical world. I imagine it might be worth a venture down the DIY trail but I just don't know if I'd be getting in over my head.

So what say ye? Should I just hang my head and mosey on back to the world of pre-built products or start looking for a new soldering iron and chip puller? Smile

Hmmm, I guess that wasn't very effective. Maybe it's best to pass.

heh, sometimes it dont work ... sorry to see .. but then again ... sometimes a bump or two helps ...

And welcome jvt.

The Klee docs are excellent BTW, so if you want to jump this wouldn't be a bad place to try at all! There are some more Klee threads, one of 'm has all the docs, and actually ... user help is not bad at all on the Klees .. so I really don't know whats going on here Shocked

Sorry I didn't notice this earlier.
I have noticed that Scott has gone a bit quiet lately, maybe he's scheming up a new idea or two.
I on the other hand can barely manage to read other people's posts now due to the fact that I have a job. I haven't done anything to do with electro-music for about 3 months now. I just don't have the time, energy or motivation. Crying or Very sad

More on topic:-
Yes, the Klee is a big build. Even for me! (and I laid out the PCBs!) but it is an extremely satisfying build too. I'd look into front panel options first though, as it is probably the most involved part of the process.
Any of the harder to get parts should be available from State Machine (Bill). The main ones being the CD4034s.
The boards were a joy to complete. Be prepared for a lot of inter-board and panel wiring. And don't be too disappointed if things aren't 100% straight away. It may take some finnessing to complete. Cool
