Ok, so I have a brand new MacBook pro with 4gb RAM running Reason 4.0. My audio interface is the M-Audio Fast Track Pro (with a midi in and a midi out...one each, if that matters.) Right now I'm using the Alesis Micron (midi in, midi out, midi thru) for keyboard and slider control and the Akai XR-20 (midi in, midi out/thru) for pad control on drum patterns. The problem I'm having is I don't know how to hook them up so they both control Reason at the same time, doing what I want them to do. I thought that's what the midi thru channels were for, but I must be wrong about that or hooking something up incorrectly. I want to do this without purchasing another midi interface if at all possible. I'm sure it can be done, but being so new to this form of music performance I can't wrap my brain around how, without a little help.

Hi,

Do you also want reason to be able to play the Micron or are you just going to use it with a controller?

Cheers

Andy

Sinner-
Have you gotten either of the two to "talk" to Reason? meaning, are they getting MIDI at all? Meaning, have you enabled them in the Reason prefs?
If not, do that. And yes, you can do whatever you're wanting to do in Reason with multiple controllers.
