Development status? |

Hi!
I am wondering wether there are still active developers left on the Nomad project. Yesterday I had some spare time and finally managed to fix the Java source so that I can configure the Nord's MIDI port and connect to the synth in Mac OS X 10.5. If my spare time permits I plan on changing a few small details of the program and committing the source code or at least release a DMG with my working version for others to use. Any pointers?

Currently there are no active developer on the project AFAIK.
Any new development / bug fixes is more than welcome. Best things is that you get added to the project on SF. To do that you should contact Christian

If you cannot reach him. I can give you his mail via PM. Let me know.

for me the greatest development would be if a patch could be loaded directly to the Modular's memory as well in a second when opening it in the Nomad editor.
as soon as it's implemented I will definitely change to Nomad from classic Nord Modular editor.
till then: I have to stay with the oldskool GUI design. _________________ www.synthacticarecords.com

Hi,
I am planning to do some work in this project again, but I am completely lost regarding Eclipse and Nomad. Could anyone point to some documentation or explain how to setup Eclipse and Nomad for debugging/development?

There used to be a wiki on the SF site that explained the setup process. It apparently vanished . It is not that hard, provided you're familiar with eclipse.
Basically you setup two projects. One for the libs and one for the main interface. In the interface project you have to add the libs project as a dependency project, so that libs are added to the classpath when you launch nomad. You'll probably also have to add other lib as external deps in the project (the jar files, such as log4j). That's basically it.
If you want to generate jar file for distribution, there is an ant file with useful targets.
That's what I remember. |

How difficult would it be to merge the Nomad functions in with the new G2 editor that's under development? A file parser on opening a .pch or .pch2, etc. In the end it either talks MIDI or USB. Maybe g2ools could be called in the background to convert files as they open. |
