Hello,

I currently am a nord electro 2 user looking to upgrade to the nord stage compact ex. I am under the impression that the following is possible with the stage:
1. Using the layering program, it is possible to assign a midi channel to each of the banks (synth, piano, organ), set the desired sound in each bank, and then play using a separate midi keyboard. In this manner I could play organ on the stage and then either synth or one of the pianos on a separate keyboard.
2.Through the morphing effect, it is possible to hold a sustained organ chord and seamlessly "flow" into a synth or piano sound without a break in sound.

Can anyone confirm this and maybe give me a bit more info?

Thanks!!
Ben

Yes, each of the instruments types (piano, organ, synth) can be assigned to a different midi channel and then disable local keyboard for all but one instrument (see the manual).
Concerning morphing I don't think you can use the morph function to sustain a chord. It only operations on the rotary encorders (the ones with the ring of lights). You could use it to lower the volume of the other instruments while maintaining the organ volume.

Yes you can, with a control pedal!

This is one of the awsome things of a Nord Stage. By addressing the volume rotary knob to the control pedal, you can seamlessly flow with one chord from the organ to the synth by pushing the pedal.
