Music Production Subforum? Subject description: we need one |
|
|
What the subject said. There's no place on the site to discuss anything relating to actually recording, mixing, and mastering the music we create. I think this is a big hole in the site and something that could draw some real interest in posts. There is the 'windows as a music workstation' for example but I think there's more to it than the 'Instruments and Equipment' forum under which it falls. I could see one of the main subforums being 'Recording and Production' with such subsubforums as 'VSTs and Plugins," "Digital Audio Workstations," "Mastering," etc. I think the plug-in area would garner a ton of posts.. I know I have a lot to say on the subject but really no where to post on the site as it is. It has me posting on a few other sites but i totally miss the sense of community and comfortable atmosphere of EM.

PS - these are just ideas.. I don't mean to criticize the site as it is. Just
wanted to offer my 2 cents. |

Hi Marck.
This has been discussed before, so you're not the first!
The main problem with all these separate forums is that we would end up with a situation were people stay in one forum, and barely visit another. This is the case for example in the DIY section, or the Nord Modular section, or the circuit bending forum. etc. etc. Sometimes we have to open one window of one building to shout over to another office- which can get rather confusing at the best of times! Creating, recording producing music, encompasses all of these sections outlined above, and to set yet another subforum, I feel, would only reinforce this trend.
Of course I can't speak for Mosc, but I would imagine that Mosc would answer in a very similar manner.
