New Piece "Flashback" for electronics and clarinet Subject description: by Alexey G |

Greetings everybody!
I just wanted to share my new track that I wrote this summer which is a combination of modern day electronic music and classical instrument playing.
I am a classical musician myself and just finished Juilliard School in New York City, where I also picked up Logic and started experimenting with it and live playing a couple years ago.
This is one of my pieces that I started while being under the influence of minimal techno artists (Plastikman, Basic Channel) and continued under the influence of Tangerine Dream and Vangelis. I have certain ideas how to describe the track but I also wanted to ask you what you think would be a more appropriate style description of this track.

Best wishes to everyone!

You should check out other artists here who are doing similar things. We are as much into electro-acoustic as electronic. I am, anyway. So thanks for posting. _________________ Garret: It's so retro.
EGM: What does retro mean to you?
Parker: Like, old and outdated.

HI, Alexey. Thanks for posting the link to Flashback. I enjoyed listening to it. (Actually, I listened to the audio version--not the YouTube version.) I especially liked the second half where you "take off" (processed clarinet, bass, beats, and textures), though the whole piece is a good listen.

Thank you very much Steve for visiting my website and hearing the "cleaner" version of the piece. I wish youtube had better sound encoding, but so far it butchers any audio that you upload there.
I have a couple more pieces ready and definitely will post something new in a couple of weeks!
Meanwhile, I wanted to ask everybody in which subforum could I post a discussion about copyright issues. I have some questions about it but don't want to post it in the wrong place.
Thanks a lot to everyone!

Oh yes! I am sorry I didn't include the better quality listen link. Anyone can hear my composition on my website, (It's mainly devoted to my classical music playing, but electronic composition is there too).
Follow the link, and then click on the "Listen" section. There are all the audio materials!
