This one is a bit more quiet. I tried a lot to prevent it from being boring and ended up with a lot of modules - it will not be playable on an unexpanded G2.

I'm in the process of uploading a snapshot to http://bluehell.electro-music.com - this might take another hour or so - slow link I've got and the server sometimes needs to rest after upoading files to it.

Well, I hope it's not too boring. Anyway, time is up - tomorrow there is work again to be done.

Jan.

Good to hear, it's sometimes hard to tell directly after having been in it for several hours, ehm days even. It's best to relisten after some days I guess.

BTW, the snapshot upload seems to have been successfull.

ahh nice

this music reminds me of the 1950's sci-fi radio show X-minus-1

well, i mean, they would have used this as the soundtrackif they had the G2 back then Very Happy

Yes, this has a bit of a Krellian feeling. The Krell were an avanced culture in the movie Forbidden Planet. Nobody knew what they looked like, but they did compose music. It was beautiful music. That movie is one of my faves. It was the first major movie to have a 100% electronic music score.

I did a little Krellian music, http://electro-music.com/forum/topic-2540.html

The good news is that it does run on my very unexpanded engine!

All slots show near 100 % patch load and things sound fine to me...

I guess that the expansion just doubles the polyphony but doesn't allow for bigger patches.

Which is nice. For a moment I felt sad, not being able to taste The Chef's last creation...

Again, your order/chaos balance is amazing, Jan.

thank you for your kind words.

Unfortunately words like Krellian or X-minus-1 seem to belong to a different cultural background, although I'm downloading the Krellian piece now - every description helps a bit to zoom in.

Surely Clavia's voice allocator does a better job calculating DSP needs than I do (and I made a rough estimate only) ... nevertheless ... Ron did you check the voice counts to be 1 ?

unfortunately, my unexpanded G2 can only run slots A-C. this incomplete version sounds good, though!

won't be long before I get the expansion... waiting for my favorite retailer to get them in.

Oops...

I'm afraid things are not that ok after all. All slots are in mono mode (maybe they shouldn't be?) but slot D is in "red" mono mode, and seems to be flat on it's back with it's little red feet upwards. "Only" 96,9 percent patchload but nevertheless silent.

So, as you can see your own allocation instincts are better than the editor's calculations Smile

But I still like this noodle, even when it's crippled...

I was afraid so, and where I said "1" I should have said "mono" indeed.

I'm Glad the noodle can still be enjoyable on three legs.
