Hi folks,

I'm currently struggling with the task of finding a lightweight hard case for my Nord Electro 3 (73 keys).

At the moment I've been using a soft case (looks a bit like this – http://www.binbin.net/photos/nord/nor/nord-softcase-for-electro-3-73-stage-73.jpg)... but I've already gotten a few scratches due to lack of care, so it's definitely time to get a hard case.

Problem - all the cases I've found so far are HEAVIER THAN THE KEYBOARD! Best one I've found so far is this one (http://www.thomann.de/gb/thon_keyboardcase_clavia_electro_3.htm) but at 17 pounds for just the case... adding the weight of the keyboard, it's just going to be too heavy.

I have to believe there's a lightweight hard case (that isn't too bulky) available somewhere. Either that or all keyboard players enter their 30s and 40s with terrible back problems.

So... anybody know of one?

I purchased an inexpensive guitar case and removed the center section. The shallow height of the electro makes this possible. i use an electro 3 61
There is room left for some small pedals with my keyboard.
This might work in your situation, but I would suggest going to the local store.
and checking measurements first.
The removal of the center section was easy. 2 or 3 screws on the outside of the case and 2 very small nails (brads?) had been used to secure the piece in place during assembly.

YMMV,
