Admission is free. Starts at 8:00.
At The Rotunda (remember Gate to Moonbase Alpha? same venue). 4014 Walnut Street in Philadelphia. That's right near the corner of 40th Street in the University City district.
Sorry for the late notice. I assumed that the promoter would be posting at EM a long time ago, and just found out he didn't.
If you've been to electro-music any time in the last few years, you probably heard Delicate Monster. We're playing a full one-hour set at Event Horizon, something we could never do at EM.
Here's the full description:
***************
You are invited to a free concert featuring Delicate Monster on November 3rd at the Rotunda in University City.
Delicate Monster is Steve Bowman and Art Cohen. Art and Steve have been playing together for 20 years—Art plays guitar, Steve synths and keyboards.
If you haven't heard Delicate Monster before, their music falls under the broad category of "electronic music." But not the kind of electronic music that uses heavy beats—Delicate Monster does not use drum machines or backing tracks. Delicate Monster sounds more like the free-form, ambient music called "space music," but Delicate Monster plays compositions with melodies and structure that rewards careful listening.
The sounds are delicate and tuneful at times; monstrous, brash and atonal other times. Making musical sense out of such extremes, and transitioning between them, is part of the fun of a Delicate Monster performance.
Art and Steve's approach to performance is much like that of jazz or a jam band, featuring continuous improvised interplay between musicians, but with a logic and flow the audience can follow easily.

The Rounda is at 4014 Walnut Street, near the corner of 40th Street and behind the Bridge cinema; theater is toward the rear. The concert is free. It opens at 8:00 with the truly ambient group, Northern Valentine. Second act is The Great Quentini, a performance artist that is better than any performance artists you've ever seen, funny and intelligent; be sure to catch his set (which should start around 8:45). Delicate Monster plays a one-hour set that should start somewhere between 9:30 and 10:00.
The concert is part of the Event Horizon series. Eventhorizonseries.org.
