My yearly rant of wanting a G3 will be limited to just a few words this year.

I do have Scope. It's amazing. But, the NORD is all that as well I can take it with me without a computer. I sold my G2 only to buy another one this last week. I missed it! Damn, what an awesome device!!@@

Sonic Core is the company that uses Scope now. It used to be Creamware. It runs on a few different platforms. Mostly, Sonic Core Xite-1 and Xite-D but you can also get pci cards as well.

I like both platforms. For live use I tend to like the Nord better. The Nord also has a much more broad user base.

In a time where the small analog devices are growing and accessible (just check the Slim Phatty, the new Moog Minitaurus, vermona mono lancet, doepfer dark energy, etc etc etc etc...) what we need is a new digital modular synthesizer like the G2 with full capability to interact with real analog devices. That is, with lots of CV and audio outputs, and some audio inputs.

Wouldn't that be great? ^_^

The XITE-1 has 38 Ins and 36 Outs via aes, adat, analog, and z-link Very Happy

But does it output CV or only audio?

The modular device has 8 ins and outs. But there is a way to get that to 16 I/O. The hardware of the XITE uses mostly digital I/O, and also up to 64 to the host PC itself, so it depends on the ADC you use. Wink

they say:

tear down walls
against all conventions
we give everything we have

Also says "Only JANUARY 10th 2012".

I doesn't sound like support for OSX!

This is finally some special big discount day ...

... but also some exiting annoucements:
- Open Scope
- Scope 6
- Parseq

So maybe the OSX and LINUX support is not that far away ...
Anyhow it would provide a more open interface ...

What I meant is that the Scope 6 being a Scope environment rebuild with juce and communicating with the hardware DSP through a kind of "pipe", Juce being supported by Win + Mac OS + Linux, the only work to be done on the OS compatibility part is to adapt the "pipe" to the different OS. No more limitation due to VXD or DLL files used by the Scope environment. In that case the Mac OS support could come sooner than expected ...

I like the G2 better then I do Scope. After using Scope for a few months now I don't like how when I load a patch up that it takes a while to load and I feel like it might give me an error message. I also don't like it when a patch gets corrupted and you have to completely re-load the entire system back onto the computer. I also don't like the fact that I have to use a computer to operate the system. And, I don't like the fact that you can't connect anything to anything without getting an error message.

Nord modular is the superior OS over Scope. But with Scope, the breadth of modules and the amount of development going forward with it is just incredible..
