Gobbler.com

First 5 gigs free.

Your recordings are irreplaceable.

Just set it and forget it. Never lose a project again.

Gobbler knows when you're working on a project. It automatically detects and backs up changes to the cloud as they happen so you never lose data. You can even go back in time to restore an earlier version of your work.

Whether your project is on a local hard drive or an external one, Gobbler will make sure that it's backed up - even if you move the drive between different computers.

Cloud backup designed to work with audio projects.

Audio projects aren't like normal folders. They can contain gigabytes of data. And they can only be restored in their entirety - your session files and audio files have to be kept in sync. So normal cloud backup solutions just won't work.

Thanks Andrew, and welcome and a good new year to you too.

Really curious to see how ideas like Gobbler will work out.

I do have some suggestions for how to "improve" the Gobbler app.

The current main concept here is to use Gobbler.com Cloud storage. That is all good, but adding support for local or LAN vaults ( as well as duplicate vaults locally or over LAN ) would actually turn Gobbler into the number 1 utility for all DAW owners.

I can certainly understand the reason why this on a mac is Intel only, but throwing in support for the 10.4.x non-intel macs for communication over LAN would be a great thing.

I´ve been looking at gobbler again.

IMO, the decision to not add support for local user backups - to LAN shares and directly attached storage is a bit nutty.

What is the real product here? Cloud storage? Nope.. the real product is a backup management application for DAW users. "Cloud" storage should only be one of several options for backup destinations.

Any competitor who issues a product that does this will have won over Gobbler.

BTW.. no support for G4/G5 macs? Why not add support for such macs over LAN. i turn on sharing on the older mac, the mount the volumes on an Intel mac.. and gobbler understands this.. and will scan the mounted volumes. This would be perfect for moving projects out of old machines. A great feature..
