i have a fatman. i opened it the other day to re tune it. when i turned it on it just started making sound, no midi signal or anything. just output raw wave as if the gate is stuck on (yet gate LED does not light)

i sent a midi signal to it (midi LED lights) but it doesn't respond to any cv. the gate light or cv will not respond no matter the midi channel.

i've replaced every cap, every transistor, almost every IC (no replacements for dac08, or the74hc373 yet) everything else is brand new parts. oscs work, filter works VCA works, not sure about adsr because no gate is going to it.

i can get the sound to go away when i turn the velocity knob in the VCA section all the way down, not sure what that is about. all the components in the velocity sections have been replaced

nothing seems to fix it. it's a "holiday" here so i'm sure i won't be hearing from paia for a few days so i thought i'd see if anyone here has had this issue.

i have no idea what i did to it. it was working one day, but seemed to be a little out of tune, after i opened it, it started doing this.

i'm walking away now, because i feel like putting it thru the wall

thanks for any info

Sounds like the microprocessor is freaking out. I'd look at the power, especially the 5 volts. Look with an oscilloscope too...
