| I'm just curious why the 'emergency'? You say you are an Electrical Engineer in another thread. Surely this is something you can knock up in less than an hour? I must admit I am suspicious of your intent. |

That's a mighty fine judgement if ever there was one.
No, Let's just get something straight here. You came here asking for advice on how to make a synth for twenty bucks. You were given several suggestions which weren't what you wanted. You say you'll pay 'good money', but $20 is not good. Have you ever built anything? These things take time and money and skill. Being an Electrical Engineer, you should know this. And you'd be earning 'good money', or indeed 'God money'.
I'm still confused. There could be a number of reasons why you need this synth ASAP. Perhaps it's because you simply want to play in the local Christian rock band. Or there is a comet approaching and you need to communicate with the extra terrestrials before you take a sip of the Kool Aid.
If you want a cheap synth, go and look on ebay and buy a CICUIT BENT QUAD OSC APC WSG TIME WARP DRONE EXPLOSION (WITH BODY CONTACTS), or alternatively, build one yourself. Yes, there are synths here which are built on extremely slim budgets, but the hours and hours of time which go into making these things cannot be bought cheaply. I would be pretty disturbed if anyone here accepted such a pittance as what you are offering for their hard work and knowledge.
Now, run along to ebay and see what's on offer- that's my offer. And no, your big red font and religious mumbo jumbo don't intimidate me. |

It was probably a bit extreme what I posted. It's just that artists and craftspeople are always copping abuse. It's been going on all my life and obviously a lot longer than that too.
You know... "I want this, this and this... and it's $5 an hour cash in hand and I need it immediately" Or, "This project will be great for you"... which means it will be great for THEM. Or "You can stick your name on the bottom. You'll get heaps of work from this". Bullshit promises.
'Cheap' and 'good money' are not words which sit comfortably side by side for me. Everyone here is spending precious time making things by hand. There may be cheaper ways to get around the materials cost, but you still have to put in the hours and do the hard work.
If you want things made by hand, it costs more. And if you want them in a hurry, you are going to have to pay more again.
So I'm calling for solidarity here. Don't undersell yourself. Not everyone can solder or make things. Settle for nothing less than $1 000 cash up front, $1 000 cash on receipt of goods... in exchange for a hand crafted single IC NAND synth. |

Hahaha oh that is a good one:D
I think this guy either has a college project deadline approaching fast or promised someone else that he'd build them a synth for christmas and has been unable to fullfill either of these objectives.
Am I right? Come on, I'm dying to find out what the truth is here because I have a feeling this guy is like one of those spam posts: they post one thing but they're really about something else entirely. _________________ As a mad scientist I am ruled by the dictum of science: "I can't really be certain but I think I might have an idea"

A Lunette emergency? Shine the spot light with a silhouette a nand symbol!
Maybe Super Stan will save the day.
