I'm putting together maybe 4 Eurorack modules (Pittsburgh Modular mostly) in a tiny box for, well, pretty much noise music. I have used 2 - 12VDC adapters straight onto the power bus for such a purpose before with perfectly good results. But I get the sense that a lot of people will balk at this. Am I going far wrong? TIA.

The easiest option would be a small power supply like the Micro Zeus:

If you want to diy something, then you could make something similar to this:

Change the 5V regs for 7812 and 7812 (the large 1 amp package) and power it with a 9V AC adapter (NOTE: AC output - not DC).

It will be limited a bit by the current that the adapter can supply, so make sure that you get one that can supply enough for your modules.

Thanks C, ultimately just decided to go with a Pittsburgh Modular powered box. Not much more than the Zeus, getting a box together, wiring etc.
