BCF200 fader issue with g2 rack |
|
|
I'm havin bad time trying to use BCF2000 to control my g2. I can't get the motor of the faders working, if I change values on the G2 gui the faders on BCF don't receive any data. Is there any way to solve this issue? |

I don't have the faders but did use a BCR for a while with my G2 engine.
First up, I take it you've got both midi in and out hooked up in both directions (and the right way around)?
If you press Cmd/ctrl and M in the editor, it should send out the position of all assigned CCs to the midi outs, this used to work for me anyway.
The other obvious thing that's easy to miss sometimes is that you need to make sure that you actually have CCs assigned to parameters. One of the easiest ways of doing that is by moving a setting on the edits, moving the physical fader and then hitting L to learn.
Hope this helps.

I've tried everything you've said excerpt for the ctrl M trick, it doesn't work either. I've to say that I'm on bc mode 'cause i need preset pages on bcf |

I *think* you need to be in S4 standalone mode and make sure local midi if it exists is off to avoid feedback loops.
I guess it'd be handy if you have any other hardware around that you could use to test that everything is working as it should and then troubleshoot either the BCF or the G2 instead of both at once.
The other thing that springs to mind, is that with the G2, there are certain cc's that are fixed to certain features and as such, you can't assign them to other things - double check what your faders are set to and cross reference with the G2 manual for clarification (I know that Run is 70 or 71 but can't recall the others off the top of my head).

SOLVED. The world have to know how:
When you make the preset in bcedit you must select in "ctrl option" field "motor" (feel SO stupid as I haven't tried it before )
thank you for tips and help
