Cannot be too difficult to get a CD ready for print, can it? Well. There are so many details to have your eye on. Especially when it comes to colours usuable for CD labeling. Oh boy. It's all about black magic. But since today, everything should be on its way. Now it's all about waiting for the CDs to arrive at my place and immediately spot a big spelling mistake on the cover... Hope not. Also, with the weather still doing its mediterranian style, I decided to go for some easier music tonight. Nevertheless, the closer will be a track from the upcoming syndae CD. So I hope you have a decent not so hot place and enjoy the tracks by Erik Wøllo (Wind Journey), Stephanie Sante (Clear Light), Klangwelt (The Incident), Harald Gramberg & Sylvia Koloski (Spring Time), Sergey Borovkov (Free Your Mind), and Jim Ottaway (The Sound of Syndae).

Cool and the bang on

I am not really into birthdays, but when it comes to the podcast anniversary, other dates of celebration pop up. Like the one by Klaus Schulze, which got celebrated by a tribute album, too. I'm also close to celebrate the weather turning milder, as me and my body are not made for hot temperatures. A big welcome to temperatures below 30 Celsius. Seems a good time to go party. Well, I kind of will for the release of the syndae CD, which will happen at Spaceworks in Hagen. I admit, it's a small location and occasion, but it's where it all started. The podcast's birthplace so to say. And I hope that some of you listeners will join me. But for tonight, let's celebrate with cool music brought to live by Klaus Schulze (Silhouettes), Ansgar Stock (In Love With the Moon), i-One (Singularity), Pharamond (Naturalis Historia), Sonic Chain (The Sound of Syndae).

Party with care on

I am no historian in musical instruments, but I would assume that percussive instruments are some of the oldest on earth. It seems so natural to me to simply start with a rhythm by tapping fingers. Before music, such beats could surely be useful for longer distance communication purposes. Drums surely came in with rites and were always good for some dancing. I usually prefeer a bit more complex, unusal and variation rich drum and percussion sequences. But on some occasions, straight forward beats do a good job of clearing my head. Well, tonight's edition will go for the latter so you may get up and move your body. Have drum fun with tracks by Liveloula & Atrus (Liveloula & Friends), Johanna von Pfeife (Devotional Dreaming), MegaHast3r (Rendering Again), Matti T (Colors), In Vitro (Transdimensional Woods), and Stan Dart (The Sound of Syndae).

Another week has past and preparations for the syndae CD premiere are progressing. This week, the real thing arrived at my doorstep, two big packs of freshly printed CDs! So they will be readied for shipping soon, several things still to be finished up. Actually, only two weeks to the Spaceworks event in Hagen, where you can come by and grab The Sound of Syndae. All this action deserves some rest. Which I also realized in creating this edition of the podcast. It's more to the ambient side of electronica, maybe with fractions of soundtrack feeling, too. Have a soothing listen with tracks by David Wright (Stranger Days), Eko Fisk (Hypnagogia), Markus Reuter (Live in Pomona 2016), Wolfproject, moonbooter (EVIL 18DE), That Horologe Machinery Divine (The Sound of Syndae).

More than half a year of preparation and mailing and sorting out and organizing, tomorrow is the day of days, the release of The Sound of Syndae. It was such a great and time and exciting time. And I hope, you will like the result. One of the reasons I started syndae was to support electronic music and specifically the Electronic Circus festival run by my dear friends Hans-Hermann and Frank. Last year they celebrated the tenth edition of the festival and I am really happy for it to continue on this year. And a great line-up they have, too. So you will get tracks of all the artists to be seen live at the Circus on September 29th, who are Javi Cánovas (In this moment, in this place), Tiny Magnetic Pets (Pink/White), Harald Grosskopf (Synthesist), Thorsten Quaeschning (Cargo). And to sweeten the night, the closer will be a track from the syndae compilation by moonbooter (The Sound of Syndae).

It was a great evening in Hagen last week, where I had the opportunity to present my syndae anniversary album The Sound of Syndae. I admit, it was a small event, but it was a very fine event. And, of course, Stefan Erbe gave an extraordinary concert in that cosy room, with an enthusiastic audience. I know, I know, it was mainly about the concert and just a tiny bit about my CD. A microscopically small step for mankind, but a giant leap for me. He he. Well, next event in line is the Electronic Circus, which I mentioned last week already. But I have more musical treats of that event for you tonight by Thorsten Quaeschning (Cargo) and Harald Grosskopf (Synthesist Reloaded). Moreover, there is new and noteworthy music on this show by Dr. Lum (Ethnostep Cool, Uwe Reckzeh (Surreal Dreams), Biodiode (Mars Chronicles), Klangzaun.

There are several ways to support electronic music in life. Of course, you should always go and buy the music you like on CD or as digital release, if you like listening to it. Most artists I have on my shows do not and cannot live from their music, but it would be tragic if they would stop publishing their highly inspiring music. Another way is to visit events where you can meet them and listen to them live. Yes, these are smaller events of a few hundered people at most. But this makes them even more special and worth visiting. Because they are smaller, it is crucial to let their organizers know you are comeing, best by purchasing a ticket in due time. To water your mouth for the upcoming E-Live, on this show you will get fantastic music by Wavestar II (Nightwinds), Baltes & Erbe (Electric Garden), P'Faun (sp'roque). And moreover I have a track of an all time master, Jean-Michel Jarre (Planet Jarre).

Prepare for live with

So after the Electronic Circus, with all their stunning acts live on stage, I finally am back. Well, yes, I tuned out for some days vacating in beautiful Italy for a change. Mille grazie, Italia. It was great to have a short break, after finishing the CD and doing the Circus. Next up is E-Live in Oirschot, which already is next week on October 20th. Still time to book your trip and get tickets for the event. And therefore I have some news, too. First, P'Faun will bring their new album, live to stage and physical at Groove. And as a teaser a track on this edition of syndae. Several new releases have been announced to appear on the day of E-Live. One of them is the new album by Syndromeda, another by E-Tiefengrund, and there will be more. So while waiting for the big festival coming up, enjoy listening to P'Faun (Golden Peacock), Syndromeda (Eternal Destination), amd Picnicboy (Echoes).

What an exciting time. Tomorrow is the third event to visit and present the Sound of Syndae CD. I've been to Oirschot before, several times, but it was never like this. And more than that there will be really cool acts on stage the whole day. I really hope to meet quite a lot of you guys to talk music. Ron Boots is doing a great job there over the past 20 or so years, with E-Live and E-Day being a beacon of the EM world. But let's check on tonight's edition of syndae, which will present some amazing music as well. And brand new stuff as well that just reached my hands. It's kind of action packed but far from technoid. Just get the volume right and have a joyful listen to Time Away & Myth (Dreaming of Other Worlds), Weldroid (End of Mission), Parallel Worlds & Dave Bessell (Dystopia), Aevin (The Aftermath), Red Plane (Mask), and Audio Cephlon (Oumuamua).

After the festival is before the festival? Well, there are a bunch of concerts coming up, like BKS in Bad Sulza next weekend and Sound of Sky as well as Johannes Schmoelling the weekend after. But the next bigger station is on December 1st with the B-Wave festival. Where I also will be and have a combined stall with erbemusic. Well, time to give you some teasers for the event in form of tracks by Erik Wøllo (Threshold Point) and Pyramaxx (Distance) tonight. But, of course, there is more fresh music on this edtion. Fantastic music to be heard by Progeny -1 (Ancient Artisans), David Wright (Stranger Days), and Colisseum (Adventus).

Having a cold isn't really too bad. But the downsize for me: it stole my voice. Well, instead of dropping this weeks edition, I employed a guest host for you. So you will meet George. Not a real person though, but a computer generated speaker. I remember back in the days, when computer voices sounded really bad, somewhat worse than mine at the moment. But nowadays, high-end generators can do wonders. Not that I could employ one. But free speakers are quite good today as well. And George was free, so thank you, George, for taking over for tonight. Not the longest speaking time though, as we only have three tracks on the show tonight, which are by Pollard, Daniel, Booth (Eight), Wolfgang Nachahmer (Eiszeit), and Kellerkind Berlin (Spinning Around Bits and Bytes).

Back from the voiceless here comes a reminder and announcer edition. There are quite some nice events coming up, like B-Wave in Belgium, which I mentioned last week. Another event I nearly overlooked is Electronic Music 3, which is up on November 24th, three weeks from now. Of course, Sound of Sky happens tomorrow parallel to Zeit with Schmoelling and Waters in Oirschot. Boy, busy weeks. And then there are new releases up, like Equinoxe Infinity by Jean-Michel Jarre, due 16th of November, and Andy Pickford's Objects & Expressions I. And that's where you will get tracks from tonight, starting with Michael Stearns ft. L. Subrarmaniam (Baraka), followed by Jean-Michel Jarre (Equinoxe Infinity) and Andy Pickford (Objects & Expressions I), and completing the show with Otarion (Under Surface) and Wellenfeld (Ten).

So I sat on my couch looking outside, where the moon lit the neighbourhood, standing bright and full at the sky. This seems the best time to actually watch the stars above, with a clear sky and only a few lights soiling it. Great not to live in a big city, where even at night the air is glimmering of street and car lights. Might be even better futher in the fields. Do you like watching the stars? Thinking about it, they make one feel really small, tiny even. There is such a vast space out there, and we on earth are such an unimportant atomic piece to the universe. And being on this tiny little planet, people have nothing better to do than to fight each other for even less important things. With his edtion, let's take a little breath and rest from all this madness. Ambient is calling with tracks by HuuHaa (Frostient), Madhavi Devi (The Truth of Being), Jarguna and Friends (Trapped Vol. 2), Casimir Corona (An Occurrence in the Inverse Universe), and Fiona Joy Hawkins (Piano Peace).

Is it the time of evolution? At least for some artists it seems to be. They slough their skin and appear in new garb, adding new and fascinating aspects and style elements to their music. Hence, you will hear cool and new music tonight, which might need some time to recognized the artist behind. And this is one of the reasons why I love this electronic music genre, it's so awesomely diverse, it never stands still in time, and still remains timeless when listening to tracks from earlier in history. You will geet all of this with the tracks by Stefan Erbe (Reflect), Progeny -1 (Ellipse), moonbooter (Groundcontrol), Pan Electric (Step Out), Rudolf Heimann (Trancefusion), Chris Gate (The Sound of Syndae).

Tomorrow I'll be on the road to Belgium, looking forward to great musical acts on stage and to meeting lots of electronic music fans. If you are there, don't forget to say Hi. Of course, I'll be there with Stefan Erbe joining his stall for presenting The Sound of Syndae, and Stefan will do some interviews for empulsiv, too. There is plenty to see and hear at the festival, the B-Wave organizers did a great job on that. But before I jump the road, with tonight's edition we celebrate the beauty in electronic music. Easy going and relaxing music before the heat goes on. With wonderful and brand new music, brought to us by Chronotope Project (Lotus Rising), Steve Orchard (Skyway), Sylvain Carel (Talisman), alucidnation (Paracosmic), Gavino Morreti (The Corn Mother), and Reskimus.

Back from Belgium with a bag full of CDs and a brain full of nice experiences, meeting up with friends and artists of the electronic music scene. It was a wonderful festival with cool and fresh music, and my last music event for quite some time. Winter is up in the northern hemisphere. And also some festive days with lots of delicious treats. Well, if you are not into candy bars and chocolate santa, maybe you like the treats I have on this show. Very traditional tonight with brand new music by Michael Brückner (During a Lull and Other Tales), Broekhuis, Keller & Schönwälder (Live @ B-Wave), Bernhard Wöstheinrich (Elsewhere), and Anantakara (Momentum Lapses).

Today I watched a vlog on self publishing. While it was about novels I quite see some parallels to music to be heard on syndae. Some of which is released via a label and others by the artist on his or her own. The vlog did not favour one over the other as both have their benefits and issues. As with novels, self publishing in music does imply a lot of work to be done by yourself, which is usually done by a label. Be it cover design or distribution as well as advertising. On one hand, these tasks steal quite some of an artist's time maybe better spent on composing. On the other hand you can decide everything on your own and quite surely will raise your expertise in a wider field of areas. On my show, I usually have a mix of both, self published and label published music. If you can hear a difference in quality, let me know, because I can't most of the time. So, however published or distributed, enjoy tonight's excellent tracks by Roberto Sass (Ancient Wonders), Stefan Erbe (Reflect), Menzman & Friends (Insights), Curious Inversions (Spire), Space Station (Infinity), and Stan Dart.

As a matter of fact it's a bout 10 to 16 C these days, not the weather to expect for this season in this region. But when we are at it, let's bring some summer feeling to us in form of chilling music. Funny though, as the chill is what the temperatures outside should be. In the end, it's all very fitting. More than that, this will be the last edition of syndae for 2018, of course having great electronic music on board, some tracks I missed out in autumn and brand new music as well. I hope you will have a wonderful festive time these days. And if you need some fitting music, well, I prefer the sound of tonight's syndae edition, but there also are the christmas specials from back in the days, which you will find in the arhives at syndae.de. For me, this is the true sound of these days, given to us as tracks by Pan Electric (Step Out), Abraham Carmona (Ibiza), Meesha (Trip to Mars), Andy Pickford (Objects & Expressions III), alucidnation (Paracosmic), and Psyonysus (Interbeing).

So our planet did it and completed another round through space orbiting that bright star in midth of the solar system. And I am quite curious what's up for the next full circle (or rather ellipse). What surely is up is a series of podcast editions of syndae. And I am excited to present more magnificent ambient and electronic music to you all. If I would do any resolution (which I don't), it's to not stop promoting all these great artists waiting to be heard. Starting out tonight with an exciting selection of such artists and tracks of their latest releases, who are Smooth Genestar (Rétrospectif), Mark Dorricott & Stan Dart (Seaside), GreatOwl (Lilia Sin Mi), Sephira (The Master Work), Globular (The Context), and F.I.E.L.D.Y (Tree of Life).

Something I really did not miss during vacation is the ride to and from work. It's nothing spectacular, really, but I am always amazed how people seem so in a hurry. Changing lanes like chords in a rock song, speeding and taking over to gain another four metres to the "combatant" drivers. Only to later meet up at the next traffic light. With all this hectic world outside, time and again it is nice to dive into something peaceful. Like the ambient tracks which are on tonight's playlist by Seifert & Steinbüchel (Abandoned Places), NoizeFilter (Absolute Zero), Erik Wøllo (Infinite Moments), DesuExSounds (Soundsphere 9 / Compilation), Adeptus Mechanicus (In an Open Field), and Kryshe (Hauch).

Snow! Well, kind of. Actually, not really, maybe less then 1 cm of white powder that covered the area this week. But, of course, people were eager to shovel it away. Ugh, how could this happen? Snow. In winter! Lucky me for having a garage. No need to scratch the windows. It's still cold and the air-conditioner needs its time. And a weather to drive carefully. Not because of the itsy bitsy layer of snow, but because of the overy careful drivers on the road. Good to have some nice music in the player, like tracks by Alphaform (Escapism), Menzman & Friends (Insights), Arpegiator (The Polar Response), and MTA Lab (Autumn).

More snow! And this tie it was my wife and I who had to do the shovelling. It was by far not as bad as in the US, neither in amount nor temperature, but cold enough to make you shovel faster. Worse than handling the shovel is the public service being late, so one has to slide the roads instead of driving. And, of course, it's all the other drivers who can't drive a car in such weather, he he. These are the days one is really happy coming to a warm and pleasant home. And I hope you will feel the same with tonight's episode, featuring hoely tracks by Cat Friendly (Mirrors of the Sun), Solace Road (Solace Road), Mark Dorricott & Stan Dart (Seaside), Psyonysus (Interbeing), Andy Pickford (Objects & Expressions 3), and Spatialize (Beyond the Radar).

The nice thing about running a podcast on your own is that it's me alone deciding upon what tracks to play on the show. And I am quite sure you listeners like to check out about boundaries, not so common music, sometimes not even pleasant to listen to in the first moment. Well, tonight's such a night, although i can assure you no being to harsh in my choices. Actually, I quite liked all the albums you will hear about. They broaden my listening habits, may put me out of my comfort zone for a moment, but on the other hand surprise me with new details in sounds. I hope you will enjoy the music as well having tracks by Massimo Discepoli (The Right Place on the Wrong Map), DDO (Sins, Prays & Self-Punishment), Sami Konzo (Kitchen), Tacit Blue (Abandon), aAirial (Wanderings), and TT-ram & Lutz Thuns (Delusion).

Relaxed but not too quiet, that's the motto for tonight. This was one exciting week, and for the weekend, I need to gear down a bit. Not too much, of course, not to oversleep all days to monday. It's about the right mix of hot and cool, of speed and serenity, and I think this one will do very well. How do you quieten after a busy week? Music? Walking? Reading? Let me know by mail, as comment on facebook or on mixcloud. To me, these tracks do the trick tonight Barby (Anaconda), The Dream Makers (Vanishing Waves), Jason Rice (Escapism), Spatialize (Beyond the Radar), Pandacetamol vs 4T Thieves (Dot), Easily Embarrassed (Cosmic Duality).

There we are, another week has taken it's way to the past. And what a week it was starting with a brand new challenge at work and some cool musical stuff as well. Which makes me aware it is good time to find a counterpoint in compiling tracks for this edition. And while life turns out to be quite progressive lately, we go back to the future with some traditional EM inspired modern pieces. And of course, you will get them in quite some extensive lengths, if available. So best to tune in right now to have a wonderful evening with Craig Padilla & Marvin Allen (Toward the Horizon), Arpegiator (Finding Balance), TM Solver (Delay Line), and Ebia (Transmission).
