So I am just preparing for a short trip to a small town. Not that small, actually, as it is the biggest in its region. Quite a nice region as well with nice places of interest around. Yeah, right, some of you will have guessed it, I am talking about Detmold. What's so interesting about Detmold? Well, it is the place hosting the excellend Electronic Circus festival for several years now. What better reason to visit a place than experiencing high quality musical acts? And there are more such festivals to come, in the Netherlands and in the UK. Don't hesitate to go, because, suddenly, such an event might get cancelled. Sad greetings over to Belgium where this just happened with B-Wave. Hence, no time to waste but run for the upcoming festivals. Meanwhile, get prepared for fantastic tracks by Quaeschning meets Frick (The Seaside Stage Session), IcingWolf (Sonic Waves), elAstrum (Summer Vacation), Giriu Dvasios (Remixes), Michael Brückner (Astronauts 2 - The Great 1994 Gravity Escape), Croavig (Blastproof).

Back from a fantastic Electronic Circus with great and diverse musical acts like Martin Stürtzer and Schwarz. A new location with much space and lots of nice people made the weekend an event to remember. And the next one is at the horizon with E-Live end of October. I hope to make it to Oirschot, but one never knows. After such an exciting time in Detmold, I am looking for some rest and relaxation. So here comes a rather peaceful edition with also great tracks by Andy Pickford (Psymanteum), Imaginary Landscape (Nothing Left Behind), Frank Makowski (Canon der Finsternisse), André Perim (Side Effects), Static Dreamscapes.

What a great vacation. Two weeks of rest and silence. And this time I really had a low time on the internet, which seems to be around me all the time. Really enjoyable are over in Croatia with marvellous weather for this time of the year. So with me being back, syndae is back as well. And I am empowered. Which you will also hear when listening to this edition. So get up on your feet and rock the floor. Or simply put your headphones on, lean back and enjoy this excellent bunch of tracks by Dave Mono (Finally), Element 4 (Bubbles), Parallel Worlds (Sorrow), Nézumi (Ruthless), Lizard (Try / Compilation), Unknown Concept (Enigma).

I hope all your pumpkins are well consumed. It's always interesting to see so many people going crazy. Well, as it is rather goodbyeween now, I refrained from syndae going crazy and present the opposite tonight. So what you will get is harmonic, is melodic, is rather easy going. Thirty minutes of delightful electronic music. But before we go there, one thing to tell you: only few shows to go before syndae goes 500. Maybe you already noticed. Of course, there will be a special edition of the show, so be prepared for something unusual for my one step that leaps the show to half a thousand. What do you think? For how long shall the show stay on? Now, I give you thirty minutes to think about it with wonderful tracks by Myth (Time Away presents: Pearl Diver), Dreamerproject (Beyond Dreams), Claus Jahn & Pat Pik (Some Oxygen Needed), Colin Rayment (Transitional States), Giant Skeletons (Warden of the Humming Skies), NoizeFilter (Floating Conscousness).

Humans are a very visual species. Maybe most living beings are, but for humans I can definitely tell. If the current state of a work in progress cannot be shown, if it is not tangible, it seems difficult to explain the progress made in up to this point. On the other hand, when listening to music, one usually starts to create visuals in their mind. So it's not only the aural experience that touches you but the virtual images it produces. Each and every track of this edition did this to me, and the images always were different and contributed to the musical adventure. I think you will experience that as well when listening to Adrian Earnshaw & Benedict Roff-Marsh (Kosmicheskoye Tango), Betrand Loreau (Eternal Sorrows), Andy Pickford (Psymanteum), creeps (one), Kellerkind Berlin (Sun And Snow).

Do you sometimes think back about roads not taken, because they seemed uncertain or dangerous? I do. It's always an easy way to be angry about a potential decision that might have led to a better situation in life. Truth is, you do not know and never will. Any decision made, any road taken most probably would only have gotten you in a different kind of trouble. This happens to tiny things, like being in the wrong queue at a shopping mall or ending up in heavy traffic because of taking a short cut. Well, sometimes risk pays out, sometimes it does not. That's life. And what does this have to do with tonight's show? Most probably nothing. It might reflect the tracks I chose, which make an edition unique. It might be the sound an artist has selected for his track. Regardless, what one is struggling with, best to simply enjoy whatever little fun you can get. Like the wonderful tracks of this show, which are by Pandacetamol (Driftwood), V (23.56.04), Eisenlager (@work), Vulpes (Beat Battle Royale / Compilation), Hydro Fyter (Rust), The Oracle Model (Eventide Tears).

It was summer 2008 when I started publishing syndae. I never thought it to become such a long running hobby of mine. And tonight, I am happy to present episode 500! Which moreover comes as a vidcast to be seen via syndae's new Youtube channel, created solely for this occasion. It features about 76 minutes of original music, brought to you in form of an old school moderated music show. So if you want to have some visual fun as well, visit the link below to see the show. And for you dear listeners, I also provide the show as audio only version. As of its length, I had to split the show in two parts, first of which is presented tonight. The second to follow next week. So now we are over the hurdle of 500 episodes, going on with exciting fresh music starting into the second half of the millenium. And we start with easy, serene sounds quite fitting into the upcoming season. In the northern hemisphere, it also is the darkest time of the year. Fair enough to celebrate oneself and one's family all along and cheer up for the time to come. On this edition you will find wonderful tracks by Don Latarski (Frozen Moments), David Helpling (Rune), David Wright (Dissimilar Views 2 Remastered), jarguna and Friends (Trapped Vol. 3), Michael Brückner (The Undercurrent), and Static Dreamscapes (Manaslu).

Living in the northern hemisphere this time around is not the most uplifting thing. It's quite dark throughout the day, not really helping regarding one's mood. Many people put some light in their garden or windows, which might help a bit. At least it looks nice and provides a visual warmth. And then there always is music to help out. For tonight, I picked some tracks more in the area of chill-out, and while some seem darker with respect to the title, they all have a positive vibe on them. So take a seat, tighten your headphones and enjoy the music by moonbooter (Both Sides of the Moon), Astral Robot (Zero Point Fluctuation), Time Away & Myth (Interception), 4T Thieves (Hauntology), Yunas Orchestra (Manhattan's Dream), and Mick Chillage (Perfect Projection / The River).

Oh, well, it's that time of the year again, when people get crazy, panically running around and looking for things to put in boxes. For hard core fans of syndae I do have a little surprise this time: The Dawn of Syndae is available as download album since today. It is an album having only one track: the title music of syndae. Well, except for one track, you will get to hear on the show tonight. Ok, that's about it for written self-advertisement. More than that you will find fantastic peaceful music fitting this special season. You could actually play this in family settings, if it weren't for me talking so much. But, hey, one cannot have it all. Howsoever, have a joyful 30 minutes with excellent tracks by Forrest Fang (Ancient Machines), Harald Nies (The Circle), Robert Scott Thompson (Green Flash and the Dryline Chaser), Three Fields (Undefined), moonbooter (Both Sides of the Moon). Oh, and the last one by myself.

Welcome to the next decade in the two thousand's. It was a smooth and non-exciting time for me, well, mostly. Tonight marks the lift-off for more editions with fine electronic music on syndae. So, again, welcome! And I am sure there are some really exciting things in the making for 2020, some of which can already be heard on this edition. Now, technically, there is no reason for celebrating a new year. Earth just did another turn around our beloved star named sun. But it is like birthdays, a memorable loop of time for us humans. Let's hope for the best and such is the selection for tonight's edition with tracks by Eleon (Cerulean), MegaHast3r (Memories of an Old Man), Niteffect (Nip In The Bud), Fortadelis (Exposure), Cornel Hecht (Ranger Things), and Jabber (Shepherd Drift).

Tonight we have an interesting mixed style episode. Actually this is edition is fourth the year with its number of 505. So, if you are into numbers, here you go. The music on this show is not so mathematically focused, but surely kind of is, because it is electronic music in its best. And while I am sitting here enjoying the very mild winter we have so far, I definitely enjoy the tracks on this show making the air and myself vibrating. Of course, accompanied by the fitting images in my head, implied by the music of Point (Human Music), Darshan Ambient (A Day Like Any Other), Andy Pickford (Aphelion), MVar (Falling), Beukotreug (Cosmic Spring), and Klangzaun.

Loving it spicy at

P.S.: By the time, this show was recorded, I did not know about the condition of Michael Allison (Darshan Ambient). Today and with great sadness, I got aware of him passing away. My sincere condolences to his family and friends.

Is it already the third show this year? Crazy. Seems, 2020 starts fast. And there is already a bunch of events going on these months. So be prepared for a busy time ni which events are lining up like rarely before. One of these events is a new one, too: db2fluctiation. It's a festival happening in Belgium on February 22. You won't get many more twos and zeros combined for a date. And of course you will get some impressions for the artists of that festival in this edition of syndae by Daniel B. Prothese (Hollektrokraut) and Nothing but Noise (Existence Oscillation (possible) Future). Beyond the festival, there is more elegant music on this show, of course So have a great evening with tracks by Eagle (Starry Starry Night 2020), Cornel Hecht (Ranger Things), Robert Jürjendal & Miguel Noya (The Power of Distance), and Remy (Exhibition of Dreams Revisited).

So, I actually wanted to get the show a bit more quiet and ambient tonight. But then I came across all these great and partially hypnotic tracks. Not that they are pushing and up with beats, it's still a wonderful and colourful smorgasbord of aural treats. Moreover do these tracks bear a capturing filigree as if woven from the finest wires. Thus I fell for them and it felt wonderful. It also puts an end to a mixed week, where I got lots of things done, but still cannot find the real rest in mind. Maybe you know such times when thoughts keep spinning in your head. For example, because there are decisions or changes up that you are looking forward to but which still make you feel slightly uncomfortable. Or you are bursting of ideas but cannot decide where to start, which keeps you up all night. Hm, well. The tracks on this show helped me to peace out a bit, without being serene at all. Have a joyful time with Byron Metcalf & Jennifer Grais (Sacrament), Cat Friendly (Seas on the Moon / Compilation), Cousin Silas & Kevin Lyons (11 Tales of Space and Intrigue), Steve Roach (Trance Archeology), Wilfried Hanrath (Kantele / Compilation), and D-Echo Project (Cura).

Do you think that life may be an eperiment with some white-bearded guy watching from above how it works out? Well, this might sound a bit like the famous novel by Douglas Adams. Following what happens in the world, one could only derive that it is. And better than any novel, suddently some thing happens, no one would have guessed. Not pointing to anything specific here. In the end, life is what you make of it. And more or less often one has to try things, to follow one's instincts on what might serve your life best. That may also be true for an artist, when looking for the next cool piece of music or sound to express oneself. In that sense, I hop you have great fun and joy with tracks by Lakmus Red (Shepherd Drift), kothyus (Six Listen), Culture Deaf (Audio Dark), C Mantle (Acre, Aged 10), Noston (Dark Lord is Coming), and Sternenspringer (Exoplanet).

Why is it that people have different tastes? If you are looking at food, some prefer sweet, some salty, some rather bitter food, which others can't even taste. On a biological level, taste actually is a combination of the sensation of flavour and the sensation of smell. And it is less a genetic thing but rather an emotional one. Depending on what emotions you relate to a flavour and smell, you may like or dislike the food you get. But why talking about food? To me it is the same as in music. Whatever feeling you relate to the sounds and structures of a musical piece, it results in a balance between like and dislike when listening to it. Of course, there is lots of variations in what I like in music and music of similar style is no guarantee to like or dislike it. Well, listen for yourself as you will get some variations of electronic sounds tonight with tracks by Time Away (Seas on the Moon / Compilation), Mikael Fyrek (Further Asunder), Ron Boots, 99.9, and Broekhuis, Keller & Schönwälder (The Repelen EP).

I'm not sure, why I tend to choose rather melodic music recently for this podcast. Maybe it is the mood I am in, so that I need a little contrast to my work, which is rather chaotic at the moment. Which is about to change soon, to become a different kind of chaotic (Ha!). Or maybe it's the season, where it stays rather dark most time of the day. Or maybe it is the political situation, which kind of drives one crazy seeing so much incompetence and selfishness of people being in charge all over the world. Or maybe because it's Valentines today? Not really. But whatever the reason, the music that currently finds its way into the shows is simply wonderful to listen to. And wonders are most welcome, especially in form of tracks like provided by Marc Enfroy (Surrounded), Hollan Holmes (Milestones), Stan Dart (Loneliness EP), Tuuligan (Sininen), Darshan Ambient (A Day Like Any Other), and Andy Pickford (Aphelion).

Art is all about rousing emotions. If a piece of art doesn't touch you, it is not meant for you. And it does not matter what kind of emotion. Any emotion counts. Reverse, of course, not everything that stimulates your emotions you is art. Obviously, art is a personal matter. Based on experiences you made in the past. And this is true for any kind of art, be it paintings, or be it music, as in the case of what syndae presents to your inclind ears. Hopefully, what you will hear tonight will fall into the category of art of your likings. It definitely falls into mine. Listen in and decide for yourself for tracks by Kirsten Agresta Copely (Around the Sun), windspace (Zephyr), Steve Roach (The Sky Opens), Indigo Symbol (Terminal), EugeneKha (Sky Breath), Test Card (Music For The Towers).

Not sure, how many of you listeners will remember that phones actually looked somewhat big and bulky only 30 years ago. They were meant to talk to someone else living far away. When I see people with smartphones nowadays, seldom they are using it to talk. It's amazing how things and communication changed over the past years, actually during my life. It is a crazy time with rapid developments that happened during the past years, and it's really speedy. Not sure, where I am going with this. Well, also about 30 years ago electronic dance music was on a high, I'd say. The sounds you will get tonight are definitely its children, taken several steps further than simple dance floor material. Have a wonderful listening experience with tracks by Smooth Genestar (Music for sleepless cities), In Vitro (Aguanoche), Kavalier (Digital Family Vol. 8 / Compilation), Bite (Everything. Works 2005-2019), John Nap (John Nap), Aleckat & Hynamo (Apollo).

Friday 13th and edition 513 of syndae, coincidence? Maybe. Bad sign? Definitely not. But be aware, the music on this show may be infectious! It might lead to an addiction for electronic music. And while there was the first live big concert without audience in a proper concert hall, by listening to this podcast you will definitely join a happy audience with no regret. There is a bunch of new material on the playlist as well, so don't hesitate to tune in and relish tracks by Stan Dart (Retrospective), Time Away (A.I. Tomorrow / Compilation), Letters from Mouse (Proto Human), Volker Rapp (CO2), David Wright & Carys (Schwingungen Garden Party / DVD), Faber (Voices).

We will stick to the calmer way of sounds once more and taking music quite easy on this show. When taking a look outside what's going on in the world right now, some treats to easy your mind should at least take the rush away. Social life is reduced to the necessary these days, and there are some crazy folks out there. Thanks to the invention of the Internet we will still have a place to be with others and have the chance to find sane people (and I never imagined saying this when talking about social media). So here comes the painkiller for your mind, half an hour of very fine sounds brought to us by Michael Whalen (Sacred Spaces), Ross Christopher (Alternate Future), K.I. Companion (Music for Cars), Steve Orchard (Two Decades From Home), Seamus O'Muineachain (Blue Moon Set), and Broads and Milly Hirst (Ollust).

In sanity we trust on

I always thought we live in crazy times, where strange people get to boss countries and where it takes comedians to do proper journalism. But this is all nothing compared to how common people behave recently, hoarding strange combinations of things like toilet tissue and pasta. Wonder what that tastes like with a fine sauce of desinfectant. Seems the world becomes a comedy of panic. Well, the current threat is surely to take serious, but not to overreact. And to help you staying safe and home, I have some really nice treats for you to listen to. Forget about all the sadness for a moment and enjoy listening to Klangzaun, Daniel & Booth (Inverse), Syndromeda (KALT), and Wellenfeld (Electronic Musique Compilation 12).

What does home office mean to you? It sounds as if you have more freedom, more spare time, more of everything, doesn't it? Well, at least on saves some time travelling. But otherwise, working at home is as much a load as working in the office. Even more challening, when you have to talk to others on a regular basis. In contrast to simply pass by a colleagues space, I find it quite stressing to have to video chat all the time. So, at the end of (yet another) week of home office I am at least as exhausted as driving to my office every day. And I am quite sure not to move as much. Thankfully, there is some great music to help you chill out and unwind your body, like the tracks you get tonight by Nicholas Gunn (Pacific Blue), Stan Dart (Retrospective), Video Void (Sewer Skaters), Le Cassette (Sewer Skaters), Backstage Gurus (Mediterranean Odyssey), Psychoz (Digital Family Vol. Cool, Ivan Black (Echus Chasma).

So I had some more comforting music on the show lately, and this week is no different. Especially, as it's easter holidays at my place, best known for chocolate bunnies and hidden eggs. Well, kinda. So, of course, you get music fitting to some days of solace. Finally some time for ourself to stay at home and... err... well. Stay at home, again. Not so different from the days before and after, except no work. Well, if you have to work or are going to, thanks for keeping life running. This edition sees several new names but regulars as well, but I am sure you will have some quality time with tracks by Andreas Baaden (Home), Fiona Joy Hawkins (Bushfire Moon), Paul Speer (Sonoran Odyssey), Shoshana Michel (Impressions), Andy Pickford (Nemesis 2020), Solace Road (Silence Within).
