I tried on win7 64 at work today and didn't see the issue .. and the reported address only gives me a rough indication of where it happens
Could you post wren.log (it is in the same folder as wren.exe), maybe that would give me some extra clues.
And maybe you could try to change some things in wren.ini (also in the exe folder):
- try to set UsePortAudio=0 in the [settings] section.
- try to set LightsRate=0 in the [looks] section. _________________ Jan

Ok, I think I may have found something .. it seems to be in the VU meter update stuff .. the timer doing that starts before the calculation structures are defined and when the program needs some time to start up stuff may go wrong .. i.e. VU meters are updated from non existing memory. Not sure if it is the thing .. but it is a bug for sure.
Not sure if I manage to post an update today or tomorrow - but it will be soon. _________________ Jan

Ah, great - glad that it got solved
This really is an issue with PC apps ... that one gets away with sloppy stuff on some computers and then not on others ... and yeah I know ... I should program more defensive, but this was a thingie where I modified the code a bit to make the VU meter code easier and faster .. but forgot about the context it had to be used from
Anyway, thanks for the report, keep 'm coming!
And will add the VST request to the list - but can not really promise anything there as I'm just not using any host or plugins myself .. but who knows, maybe some day .. must say that I saw a real nice VST / AU controller app the other day, and the automation possible in such an environment did seem pretty cool .. so who knows _________________ Jan

Thanks! Fingers crossed here
Would be a great addition and a game changer in the world of virtual modulars!
In a daw you can work with very precise sample based resolution automation (in VST3 format), very flexible total recall presets and patches and full integration with an audio/midi project.
