hey Nardu, you are a master! I will swap the TL084 with a TL074 without any change. Is this ok? |

RYO 2X VCA_v.3 stripboard Lochmaster |

Sorry, I found 2 errors: LM324, TL084 must be rotated 180 degrees (in all variants), a wrong connection to VR7 and VR8.
Here,
- RYO 2x VCA top v.3 revised. The attachment RYO 2X VCA_v.3 stripboard.zip, contains the LM4 file.
- RYO 2x VCA v.3 helper, like silkscreen. Print from ryo 2x vca_v.3 silkscreen helper.pdf file 1:1, crop to edges and stick the corners on top side.
Note!, are some connections on bottom side (in all variants).
Use Viewer for LochMaster for printing

So you do not miss any spilt points, use this helper. Print from ryo 2x vca_v.3 split points helper.pdf file to 1:1 scale, crop to edges and stick the corners on bottom side.
Note! For any prints for the bottom side you must press the mirror button (vertical)
Use in Lochmaster the Print function (ryo 2x vca_v.3 printing tips.png)

This design is going to be more and more interesting!
I have a question Nardu, why you choose to use two different op-amp in there? I mean, TL082 and LM324? It is possible, in this design, to use 2 identical one (the TL or the LM), without any change?
thank you for your effort! |

Replace LM324 & TL084 |
|
|
Analyzing the circuit RYO VCA, LM324 (cheaper) is used for CV, work with DC; is not critical. TL084 works with audio and the noise figure (NF) is important; affects the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). TL074 has lower noise than TL084.
Now, by looking at the calibration instructions - pages 13 & 14, I deduce that you can use other compatible CIs. _________________ http://nardusynth.blogspot.ro/ |

Hi, I just more or less finished recreating RYO 2x VCA top_v.3_corect1.jpg, but when testdriving without the ic's placed it keeps igniting r1. i checked for any short circuit but couldn't find anything, eventually tried minus c1 and c3, but same results, any suggestions? |
