I picked this up at a yard sale. It works, but I dont know what to do with it. I'm sure someone here knows.

Ive not used this one - but used to use a HP 331, I think it was - for "proof of performance" measurements at radio stations. Its been a while - I may miss a step or two in the explanation, but the "Input" is taken from the output of the amp/preamp being measured. The output provides a test tone for the input of the amp/preamp. Set the frequency you want to measure, set the level of input to the amp, adjust the level set for either HD (Harmonic Distortion) or ID (I assume that is Intermodulation Distortion). Then switch it to % Distortion to make the measurement. On to the next frequency. We graphed a number of specific frequencies in the audio spectrum to please the FCC. (Federal Communications Commission) Sorry so verbose Smile
