Hello! This is my first post here.

Sorry, if this has been discussed earlier, buick search didn't reveal anything.

I am testing Nord Modular G2 demo with my PC. Sample rate is at 96000 Hz. I have problems fine tuning the oscillators: For example I can't make two PM oscillators to make an exact integer relationship. No matter, what I do (adjusting Semi, Freq, Fac, Part and Cent settings), there is always some beating. This is not good for the type of FM I intend to do.

In certain frequencies especially in the lower register, "Cent" setting is very coarse. I did an example patch: Osc1 is set to +13 cent and Osc2 to -4 cent, yet there is no detuning on certain notes. I wonder if this happens in hardware too?

I have had only a short time with the demo... Although I don't like the virtual gear "paradigm", I find it easy to use and kind of inviting.

I am moving from SynC Modular soft synth, which resembles Reaktor (According to rumours some of its core technology is used in Reaktor5). I miss the accuracy and more "scientific" approach.

Best regards
Jari Jokinen

welcome Jari

In partial mode you should be able to get exact integer ratios (that's the idea after all).

There seems to be something fishy going on with the dual osc's in the software emulator, when I try to sync one to the other I end up having hardly any signal at all.

Maybe try OscB (also having PWM), that one seems to behave OK here.

It's frustrating at times to do exact things with the G2, it's better than it used to be with the NM Classic, but still a lot is not documented (which seems to be the main problem).

Welcome Jari!

The detune bug that you found is only in the Demo Software, the G2 hardware does not have this problem.
