This is not really a field recording but I think it fits in here very well.
I stumbled upon this site a while ago and was intrigued by the sound.
So recently i decided to try it out myself. I couldn't get any sound out of it at first,
untill I connected it to a mic preamp and maxed the gain. Smile

This is the device I made to create the sound:

That was great, I was wondering how repeatable this was. I was just looking up now when I came accross your post, Phobos Smile

I wonder if it would also work with fully submerged copper and zinc plates?

well, it needed some fiddling to get the nice wooshing sounds, distance and amount of water needed to be just right.
And because the water evaporates (rather quick) it stops at some point.

no idea about copper/zinc, it might work. maybe stick it in a lemon for extra fruity sounds. Laughing
(and then listen to it as it rots away)
