Let's set up!
My sound card has 2 midi ins and 2 midi outs.We forget the 1st in-out cause it is connected to the pc in pc out connectors of the micro. I also have a midi keyboard.
So i connect the keyboard to the other midi input of the soundcard and the other midi output of the soundcard to th G2E.The G2E midi out is connected to the midi in of the micro so that i can benefit from the sequencers and other nice stuff of the G2E sent to the micro. I have worked through Live 5 or midi-ox,doesn'n matter.
But:
a) I often get hanging notes stuck on the micro
b) When i turn up the polyphony to the G2E, all the voices together are triggered in the micro.
c) I have perfectly managed to send mod wheel data to micro (through G2E) but not pitch stick data!

G2 thrilled!

Well it has been documented by Nord that the modulars don't do well with sound card Midi ports. I'm kind if a newbie with the micro but I thought I might mention it.

Hi there.

Here are some possible answers:

a) Possibly faulty MIDI cable(s). If you have others, try swapping them.
Possibly a MIDI loop? If there is a MIDI echo option on the micro, set it to OFF, so that the data isn't continuously being sent round the loop.

b) Perhaps the polyphony control on the G2E sends out a MIDI signal to the micro? I'm not quite sure what you mean by 'triggering'... is the micro playing a sound when you change the G2E's polyphony?

c) Its not clear what you are sending MIDI controller data FROM, but it, the micro, or the G2E may well have a MIDI filter, which is filtering out pitch information? Check the manuals.

Hope that helped,

Sheridan

i also think taht there must be other reasons..exept of the editor connection of the G1 machines midi is a pretty strong side on the clavia products...
My problems are usually allways caused by other gear than the red ones.
There is something wrong in the way your setup works..you need to find the fault. Try to work the machines with a propper usb midi interface...
you never know what is going on with windows intern drivers..
at least i never know Wink
