I don't have the Handsonic 15 but I tried it out extensively a long time ago ( it has been in production for, at least, 8 years) I think it was announced around the year 2000. An amazing life span for an electronic instrument. I love it. I think Howard got one. In spite of the fact that it has been in production for so long it's always priced the same. I expect sooner or later that it will go out of production to see if the price gets lower _________________ homepage - blog - forum - youtube

I have it. Beside being a nice instrument all of its own it is a great companion for the G2X. The Handsonic 10's midi capabilities are somewhat basic (single notes out for instance), but with the G2 you can make all kinds of midiprocessors that will enhance the capabilities of the Handsonic.
I like to play it with my fingers and not with my hands, that way i can get some nice rolls out of it and it feels more natural to me, i am a keyboard player after all:)

I have the HPD-15...got it because I thought the extra pads & trigger inputs would be ultra important for me to have over the HPD-10 (as in, plugging in a bass drum pedal and hi-hat so I can play it like a set). However, I don't use those features as much, and would prefer the coach function and smaller size for easy portability.
As for the sounds, I think they are typical roland drum sounds (I have a TD-7 electronic set for many years...many sounds haven't changed at all)...somewhat "soft"..like a sound blaster card would sound. Not very bright, or "raw" (the way a freshly mic'd drum sounds), but already processed (compressed, etc). Still useable, though...they sound bland when they stand alone, but do sound good once in a mix with other stuff.
I just wish it was easier to record a loop on the fly. Other tools do better for that (ableton, etc)

I've been looking at the two handsonic models for a while, and this thread has sparked this interest again. Unfortunately, the swedish crown took a nosedive compared to the Euro a couple of days ago, so it wouldn't be smart to get it from Thomann like I was planning to.
