Hey, I am making a keyboard controller, where can I get some cheap keyboard piano keys? Or would it be cheaper just to go to dollar general and buy a cheap toy and take its keys? I am not building a masterpiece here, I just want some cheap plastic keys. Where can I get some, if not a wal mart toy?

Sure, why not a toy keyboard Smile
they often have a buit in keyboard matrix too.

Old electronic organs might work too. (single bus)

Don't forget Yard/Garage sales and ebay. Be prepared to cut traces and re-wire, though. Cheap keyboards are usually matrixed, but usually not in the familiar 8X8 or other 8bit friendly schemes.

I would think that all I would need is the keys. I just need to create a matrix or triggering mechanism for those keys.
