Feedback compressor with distortion

Inspired by the way old limiters work, I've been playing with feedback compression with overdrive and EQ in the loop.

There are a lot of different sounds, depending on the flavor of overdrive and how much compression there is.

Here are two examples of the idea. Both patches have the compressor in on variation 1 and out on variation 2.

The first one is more subtle and just tames the kick drum a little. The second one has a lot more distortion.

I think this technique sounds different than compression, overdrive, and EQ by themselves because the feedback changes the compressor attack and release.
