Active under the nom de disque If, Bwana for over 25 years, Al Margolis was a vital component of the 1980s American cassette underground. Originating as Sound of Pig, Pogus Productions, after trading analog tape for digital disc, has released a significant body of important work by pioneers such as Pauline Oliveros, David Rosenboom, Rune Lindblad, Annea Lockwood, Ellen Fullman, and, of course, Mssrs. Margolis and conceptual sound manipulator Tom Hamilton. The label’s artists share an uncompromising desire to explore the narrow canyons separating electronic improvisation from electroacoustic composition, plus all points nestled somewhere in-between. Together, expert knob twiddlers Margolis, Hamilton, and flutist Jacqueline Martelle fold and spindle their instruments to yield a veritable cubist art for the ears. • www.pogus.com

hello to all:

server issues with wordpress unfortunately resulted in delays to updates on the OTP site for the last few days.

i am pleased to report that the site has now been formally updated with all relevant information posted regarding the feb 20th pogus productions event, including ticket purchasing options, etc.
