Subject description: Link to an audiovisual granular performance

Hi everyone.

I'll start by introducing myself.
My name is Nuno Zimas and I am an eclectic electronic musician based in Riga, Latvia.
I also develop scripts and SuperCollider engines for the Norns platform.

I'd like to share a link to my latest granular creation and accompanying visuals.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9LblFBQGwKI

The piece was executed live on a bespoke 3-track granular player and mangler that I am developing for Norns.
I am making the script publicly available on GitHub.

The audio material was sourced from various synths and noise generators on my IPad, but then extensively manipulated via the many parameters that |_ already offers.

The inspiration behind a train-themed piece is pretty straightforward.
I am a lifelong trainspotter, plain and simple.
The main idea is to continue the journey from where Schaeffer's "Etude Aux Chemins de Fer" left,

Thanks in advance for your attention!

I've fixed the post above - I like that track [and kept a copy here Cool ]

It was made with a script you say, so .. it was automated I guess .. wondering what parameters you have used for it.

And welcome

Aaand let me embed it .. if you do not want that .. let me know and i'll remove it again.

Thank you for fixng the post!

The piece is partly automated, partly played live.

One must interact with the script via the Norns physical UI (3 keys, 3 encoders) or, for finer control, a MIDI surface.
Every single parameter is MIDI mappable.

Using the script requires a combination of playback rules, deterministic probability, live input and semi-randomness (within parameter range values).

In the meantime, I added 2 LFO's per voice in order to modulate different granular and playback parameters.

There are also 2 parallel delay lines (left / right) and 2 decimators with their own adjustable parameters.
Both FX have 2 LFOs each.

Now I am working on a pitch shifter that will allow users to change the pitch of the delay reflections, effedtively adding overtones to the source material.
