Subject description: Industrial Music without vocals?
Reply with quote  Mark this post and the followings unread

I'm looking for a new gengre/band, perhaps Industrial/electro/idm/ebm, similar to Front line assembly without vocals, and something a bit futuristic and that uses synths and movie samples a lot.

Orbital, Juno Reactor, and FSOL, I already know, any more big ones?

Thx.

Not quite what you are looking for, but Holger Czukay´s Movies is the best known "movie samples" LP and it predates most of the popular stuff.

band: download
album: furnace

there are vocals on there by Mark Spybey of zOviet france infamy, but he speaks in tongues, polyglottal sentences and processes them so heavily they take on an instrumental quality. certainly not trent reznor.

it's dark dark dark stuff mind. track 5, sigesang is something i've never quite had the nerve to drop into a DJ set, no matter how messed up the audience are.

really? thats all there is? I thought there'd be more electronic artists than that?

No VAC, I can't stand anything with vocals, it sounds like crap to me.

I'm basically looking for something like FLA's FLAvour of the weak album or Re-Wind album, or Haujobb post 1996.

Industrial? Front Line Assembly is loungy pop.
Start out with the basic stuff like SPK and Throbbing Gristle.

Haujobb did an excellent remix of a DOWNLOAD tune on their Sidewinder EP. it's relatively "accessible" for an industrial opus.

I'm certainly not as good as the pros, but you might like some of my music. It's all instrumental. Check out my song "Transcender" for example. You might not like my other songs, but "Transcender" and "Zetaline" and "Now Fly" and "SchleierenKraft" you might like.

If you find the genre you're looking for, let me know... because I'm interested in the exact same thing!
