@electronicsoul, some words of order :

Would you please stop using all capital messages? There is absolutely no need to shout at us.

Could you please post your responses in the thread where the message you respond to is located? It would make a lot more sense for the readers of the forum that way.

Do you mind not printing in upper case. You were asked kindly before, but haven't taken note.

Shocked

How bad is it? This day of yours? What can shouting accomplish that being loud with a baseball bat won´t?

Analytical instrumentation costs a bit too much to be hit with a baseball bat. Besides, it's not the instruments that are frustrating me (not today, anyway.) It's no one here either. Actually, finding out that one of my cat's is diabetic last week pushed me over the edge. Now I have two dogs on thyroid medication, one dog getting ear drops and eye ointment, one cat on a special diet for kidney problems. But a cat that has to be given insulin shots every day is stressing me out. He's doing better, improving everyday. I must be doing it right. But, it is unnerving. I forgot to take my meds the other day (lipitor, aspirin, asthma inhalant) the other day due to getting all them together for their meds. I love my animals, don't get me wrong. Also, one of our goats just had a baby goat. I got to hold him yesterday. COOL!

So, tomorrow I go for a half a day at a doctors office in Tallahassee (50 miles from home) to get blood drawn and wait 2 hours for the test to see if they want to increase the lipitor. I was hoping to take tomorrow off due to the appointment and since I had to work most of the day Sunday reading BOD samples and putting up 2 BOD samples because some jerk decided to collect them at a site 20 miles from the lab on Friday at noon and insted of bringing them directly to the lab, they drove them to an office in Tallahassee and sent them UPS Saturday delivery so I had to put them up Sunday (48 hour hold time). SOOOO...... The idea of taking tomorrow off got shot to hell because we got a TCLP sample today that is a RUSH because some idiot in Georgia spilled some solvent on the gound at some site. I am the one who does this. Test the sample, get the pH, make the appropriate extraction fluid, spin it tonight (18 hours) then filter it tomorrow so that I can digest it tomorrow evening and analyze it on Thursday. Oh yeah, I've got to leave early enough to pick up cat number 5 from the vet today. Routine exam.

Just ranting. Felt good to get it off my chest. I really hate my job, but it does pay the bills. And there are worse jobs. And worse labs!

A good rant is needed sometimes! Our schnauzer, Tippi, was diabetic - we got very used to insulin shots and drawing blood from her jugular vein to test her levels. Later on we had to give her fluids at home (which is a big honkin' needle from the lower planes of hell jabbing it into her back... yikes... I admit - I couldn't do that one so my wife was stuck with it...) She left us over a year ago. Sad

Here's me with Tippi a few years ago: http://www.johei.com/pixel/forums.html?showimage=62
