I've never had any of them myself, as of yet. I do have a booklet from Thomas Henry, called "Making Music with the NE570 Compander", which looks cool. About 20 pages of schematics and lab notes from somebody who has spent some time with these. Which reminds me, if you do some web searches for NE570 you might find more info, I wasn't even aware of the SA570. Another idea is to do a google image search for NE570 and sort through the jpegs it throws you.

I know I've seen these in old samplers and sampling drum machines. Only schem I have somewhere is a Japanese vocoder project which uses them, but I'll need to find it. I'm sure that there is a good amount of old applications info for these out there somewhere.

Not a compression circuit, but the Craig Anderton Rocktave circuit calls for a 570 or 571

This chip is also used to compress the incoming signal on the Korg SE500 'Stage Echo' tape delay. I think after the signal is processed, delayed, etc., it's then expanded again before being sent to the output. I think it's used here for noise reduction. I have own one of these tape delays, and have the schematic.

Its probably used on the other Korg tape echo too, the SE300.
