Hey guys, I'm more of a lurker than a participant in threads but this has been a tough one for my n00b studies of synth circuits. I've been building and studying Nicolas Woollaston's (Nicolas3141) modules for my intro into the world of analogue synthesis but I really really love the Synthacon style diode ladder filters. Ken Stone's CGS35(http://www.cgs.synth.net/modules/cgs35_syntha_vcf.html) seems to be just the one. Anyhow, all that to say, I can't figure out if it will run off +/-9V. Anyone have any insight? Thanks!

Do a search for the "PICsynth" project. There is an adaptation of the synthacon vcf that runs off of a positive 12 volts. I have not tried to build this, but there are sound samples up, so it may be worth your time to investigate it.
(btw, Nicholas's circuits are great, eh?)
hope this helps,

I think you might struggle to get the CGS35 to work of +/- 9V. In order to get the thing to work on +/-12V some of the diodes had to be omitted.

Cheers,
Adam-V

Thanks for the reply's guys! I've checked out the PICSynth filter... It seems cool. I've done a bit of research since I posted this and it sounds as though even with the correct voltages, the Synthacon VCF is super fickle. I'm looking into some other options now. Nic's circuits are great!
