Hi there,

I was wondering if someone could help me get my middle C key working again. I've done some research and it seems that most of the time a dead key is a result of dust getting in the way. I'm confident to open my Nord and see if I'm able to fix the problem myself and so I was wondering if anyone could shed some light as to what exactly I need to do to clean it. I've found some articles on how to do this but they only relate to synths in general, not the Nord Lead 2X specifically. The articles are:

http://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.dancetech.com%2Farticle.cfm%3Fthreadid%3D97&h=b39f4R2rkE7k9s602lN-6_3hyQg

Although it seems quite simple to do, I thought I'd ask someone if they have ever had to fix a dead key on a Nord Lead before I actually attempt to fix it. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks for your time and I hope to hear from you soon.

Regards,

Daniel

See also http://nm-archives.electro-music.com/020_NordLead2/Red_Lady/Index_bestanden/Red_Lady/Weighted_part_2.htm

At the part about vacuum cleaning you see the soft plastic strip you have to open very carefully.

Will contact later again.

Hi Wout,

Thanks for helping me out. Some of the images aren't loading. Are you talking about this one?

I'm going to give it a go today. Hopefully I don't suff anything up. And hopefully I end up with the middle C key working again!

Yes.
Remove the plastic gently and one at the time. Leave the ones you don't need to treat in place, so returning it is much easier.

Never use to much force!

I once cleaned a complete keyboard soaked in coffee with lost of sugar. It still works Smile

Success! Smile

I didn't even remove any keys. Just a quick vacuum did the job. Thanks again for your help, Wout. My Nord Lead's middle C key works again! Smile
