Lost contact / Check USB cables

Using NM G2 Editor = Lost contact / Check USB cables.
g2 1.62 / osx 10.5.6
Anyone else have this? Cos I am sick of it....

...anyone?

PS:I need a midi editor for the G2... NOMAD G2 Very Happy

(EDit) everything now ok with a big ugly PC under Win XP.

I have the same problem - also with Mac OS X 10.5.6 and OS 1.62. Especially when Logic Pro and the Editor are used at the same time.

I do not think that it is a hardware problem. I think it must have something to do with the NM G2´s OS and/ or Mac OS X. I did not have these problems with my old G4, Mac OS 10.4.11 and NM G2 OS 1.4.

What is more I can work for hours with the editor without the problem. Then I start Logic Pro and there it is - over and over again. "Fatal errors", broken USB connection a.s.o.

I do not have a Windows computer to try it, but it would certainly be interesting to hear, if anyone using Windows has the same problem.

I have the same problem under parallels desktop 4 latest build so it's not a osx problem.Maybe os 1.62 of the g2 needs bugfix...you were right Doctorno!
Those USB bugs bores me a lot Evil or Very Mad

I think I'm gonna sell my(two) engine expended for a very low price, and I understand why Clavia stop the product.This is the most buggy/unstable synth product I have came across so far...I'll stick to my Nord Modular Classic and try to forget about this damn G2 USB Editor for the rest of my life. welcome

Went back to os 1.40 and bank download is working fine again...so I guess we did wait for months for a buggy(1.62) os revision,... no comment Twisted Evil

There's an app called jing

which records what happens on your desktop (windows).

I reckon it'd be an idea to record a failure and send the recording to nord support.

On the G2 engine front panel there is a llittle hole u can push a little button inside with a thin piece of metal to force update mode then open the os update app and see if it detect your Nord Modular... I can't remenber how u force update mode on the G2 key.. cos I don't have one... I wish I do Twisted Evil

Back to OS version 1.4 I have not succeeded. More precisely, I stopped trying to do this before your reply. So as tired. But I discovered a surprising thing. Maybe this is not news but. After several attempts to return to the old version of the OS, I noticed that some patches and performances raotayut bad. It looks like this.
Example with patches: Bank1 - Patch1 - is sound, redaktroe have all the blocks. Turn to Bank 1 - Patch 2 - the sound remains on patch 1 and the on-screen editor empty fields (like a new clean patch). And so on up to 20 of the patch.
The same thing happened with the performances.
I decided to remove all of the banks. And what do you think? After I completely clean off all the banks, my P2 engine earned without any bugs.

hi there, i am runing windows 7 and xp on 4 different PC's but i always loose the connection to my computers. i have the newest os 1.62 runing on the g2 engine and the v2.16 driver on the computers.

@gomidas: how the problem was fixed?

@XP: do you delete all banks and patches? and this fixed the issue?

please help Wink

i deleted all sounds in the g2 engine (banks: perf and patch) and have the same problem on win7 Laptop. But how do i downgrade the os to 1.4?
