As in you do not have the parts required handy, or it does not work? D:

Somehow, I ran out of two types of resistors. So I had to stop populating the board at an early stage.

Oh no! Haha...when that happens, I usually get crafty and use some in series or parallel to get close to the right value I need Smile

Though if you're missing, say, 10 of them - that can be pretty annoying! Razz

Unfortunately, batch #1 is all sold out! There will be another run shortly - as soon as someone provides some feedback on the first revision of the board layout Smile

Shall I put you down for two on the pre-orders list?

This guys have been hiding in a vintage Dutch sugar box, but at at the end of the day the board is almost populated. Only the four 10nF caps are missing. I hope to get them by next week.

I'm also almost through with stuffing the board.
Will have some quality time for DIY next week and should be through with this fairly soon.

Keeping you looped!

I'm boring and will do the regular version.

It took some time to collect the front panel elements from various sources, now I come up with this draft:

OK guys - enough already!
It's been a LONG time since you got the boards - I had an earlier board of this design stuffed and running in one evening.

Let's see some completed projects!

I think Mathias is just waiting on a couple of parts, right? The 10nF caps?

Actually, the board is completed. It took some time to set up up my new web shop and I spent the weekend at a classic car meeting to support my owners club. Hope to finish the wiring RSN.

Ah! Well then, I very much look forward to hearing of your results! Surprised

What is your web shop, if you do not mind me asking? I run one myself using Prestashop (I love love loooove Prestashop's server software!)

Good news! My prototype panel was working immediately! beer

HexInverter, go ahead with your next batch.

Here are my findings from a quick test:

(1) Every pot has an audible effect when turned.

(2) Every CV input has an audible effect when supplied with a control voltage.

(3) The RANGE controls seem to have a substantial effect too. I may have to change them from lin to log. To be verified.

(4) The BALANCE label is a bit misleading, since it does not balance between the two equal noise generators, but mixes the external in. Will change that to MIX on mine.

(5) The frequency controls seem to wired in a way that has the highest frequency is at the left end. Might reverse that on mine.

(6) The PCB itself is perfect: All components just fit right, and it is very easy to solder with lead free solder.

thanks Many thanks to all who contributed to this unique project!

Sweet! So... what's the procedure for placing orders for boards and for paying for them? My quad Mega Percussive Synth is almost finished and needs playmates!!! Wink

OH! That is wonderful, Mathias! Very Happy I am so happy to hear that.

Thank you for putting this project high on priority to get it done asap -- much appreciated! Smile

@Sam -- the boards still need to be ordered. Once they are here, I will post my PayPal information here and begin shipping them out. I am taking pre-orders now for the next batch. Should I put you down for some?

The rev2 layout is in its final stages of tweaking. I have managed to optimize the board quite a bit and make some cosmetic/build tweaks that should benefit all! Smile

Well, the layout is pretty much done!

And, I am pleased to announce that having shaved roughly 10mm off the length of the board, I have reduced the cost enough to incorporate silk-screening into this design! The board comes in at a cool 111mm wide, now.

I have also tweaked a lot of custom parts to get the silk-screen the way I want it to look. A lot of care has gone in to making it easily readable, and aesthetically pleasing.

The boards will still be NON solder masked, but that is only to facilitate easier trace-cutting for the Bentley Mods!

Also, 2.54mm (.1") pitch standard headers have been added to accommodate those of us with Eurorack modulars. Now you can just use a chunk of 2x5 pin header and interface directly with a Eurorack style power distribution board! Or, don't, and just install wires in the header's place instead! A silk-screen legend has been added to make sure you don't connect the power to the board improperly.

Here is a little teaser! I am working on getting the funding for the next board run. I should have them ordered in a few weeks!
