Hi,

Thats it.
I´ve had enough.
I am re-panelling my modular.
My upstairs neighbour (A100 owner... completely UN-DIY) kept teasing me, saying that mine looks crappy.
Well, I´ll show him and his ugly grey machine!

First module I did is a combination of Nicolas´ LFO and VCLFO. The panel was made out of copper clad board in 160x100, which I plan to use for all future modules. I dropped some water on it to get some oxidation, then the design was toner transfered onto it. Then I added some clearcoat to protect the panel and to prevent further oxidation.
To get the skulls and such I shamelessly pilfered some online tattoo collections.
I am quite happy with the result! The legend does not always perfectly line up with the pots, which is due to milimeter-to-inch conversion errors I made. The next one will be better, I promise.
Thanks to Nicolas for sharing the schematics!

Very cool! I love the tattoo idea. Art is where you find it....

Looks dope! What's your PSU voltage and what are the output levels on those LFOs? Have you put multiple LEDs in series, as Nicholas suggested when not using blue LEDs?

thanks!

my system runs on +-15v and the LFOs were not modified in any way except that I have put two red LEDs in series (so there are a total of 8 LEDs, of which 4 are visible on the front panel). I also had to change the current limiting resistor to make them brighter.
I did that because when I used only one LED (4 in total) the voltages were too low for my taste (modulating a filter did not give me the sweep I was after), but I have not yet measured the output voltages.
I am not at home atm, so I cant measure right away, sorry. I will be back home in a week, so bear with me.

For the VCLFO Nicolas suggested to add a diode in order to protect the transistor. I didnt, and so far the thing is still working...

wow this looks great! Surprised

I build one LFO and one VCLFO from Woollaston too. But I was a little disappointed from the voltage control - so I reasambled this one and now i have two normal LFOs.

How does yours? Can you modulate the VC- one with the normal LFO?
Cause this didnt really work on mine...

Just finished my dual triangle only version of Nicolas' Super Simple LFO.

On +/-12V I had to put 3 red LEDs in series (6 total for each LFO) in order to get an output voltage of 10V peak to peak.

I also lowered the 47K current limiting resistor to 14.3K for brighter LEDs.

The circuits works equally well as christmas decoration rendeer

Just noticed that the LEDs in series slow the LFO down considerably, so I also changed the 1uF to a 0.47uF cap...
