I was thinking about how to make a quad panning joystick (this is not it) and along the way came up with a circuit to
create 4 CV's from a joystick: center-up, center-right, center-down, center-left.

How it works is the voltage from each pot (X, Y) get's split into a positive and negative part, 0..+5 V and -5V..0V (U1d, U1a, U2d, U2a)
Then an offset voltage is added and the voltage is doubled to create a range from -5V..+5V (U1c, U1b, U2c, U2b).
And at the end there is an optional inverter to invert the direction (U3a, U3b, U4a, U4b).

I don't know if it's very useful but I thought I'd post it anyway Cool

Nice! This will come in very handy - just three days ago I dug up my old analog PC Joystick for that exact purpose!
