Hello all,
I have picked up a micro modular and have some extremely basic questions which may only irk the knowledgble users on this board.
What is the most appropriate place for nord product users to post who are trying to get to grips with their first synth?
For example I need to know why none of the patch examples in the nord
rhythm programming tutorial
http://www.clavia.se/nordmodular/Modularzone/Roland%27sRhythmProg/DanceTechnoDrbass.html
dont produce any sound when loaded in the editor, despite the fact that patches from the other tutorials on oscillators
and filters produce sound fine when trigged from the front of the modular.
The rhythm patches function different somehow as there is no keyboard module but I dont know how im supposed to trigger the sounds now!
Very basic stuff but no explanation in the tutorial that i can see. |

knifepoint.
There is no section for newbies here it's perfectly ok to ask around in any forum.
We do have a separate section though for the Classic NM, and I'll move your message there. _________________ Jan

Ok, your question
The patches in the page you link to are all triggered from a MIDI global module, that module will only work when the global MIDI clock runs. That's a setting I think in the synth settings menu, but I can't check as I have no NM Classic hooked up. Anyway, you can select if that clock is made by your micro or if it has to come in through the MIDI port from ome other device. _________________ Jan

Blue Hell, thank you so much, this was bugging me no end. A simple solution but everyone has to start somewhere. I went to synth settings and changed the clock from external to internal and all patches are funtctioning now, meaning i can learn more...
Thanks! |

Oh, some of us wondered about this exact question quite a few times! :¬) _________________ Kassen |
