hi, i'm new to his forum and have been more of a guitar effects builder. i just want to know are there any designs for phasers that are very linear on all frequencies? i have built one or two and i know that they invert the signal and mix the two proportionatly, but the ones i have seen always use a capacitor that will effect differen't frequencies differently and are not linear. is there anyway around this?

and also, this is a great site!! i really love it!!![/u]

welcome ukuleledude

not sure exactly what you mean ... what's the difference in sound between linear and non-linear?

why hello and thanks for replying!

well i read alot of stuff lastnight and i figured using something more like a delay. like a bbd so all frequencies are effected the same, but what i mean is i would like to try some pitch shifting with this idea. i wanna continusly change the delay time at a fixed rate to produce the desired pitchshift. i have been looking into digital pots which can instantaneously return to zero. the pots i am looking into are 8-bit(not the best i guess but oh well). what i want to know is will these bbd chips clock in a linear fasion? otherwise the pitch shift will be all over the place! i wouldn't mind if i was just modulating it for vibrato, but i wanna have some accuracy!!

Sometimes I guess there are sound reasons for stocking up on reel to reel tape decks.

As for BBD delay lines, wouldn´t they be in stages rather than.. well..
