March Equinox Concert 2025 Subject description: signup is CLOSED |
 |
|
Calendar Event: March 22, 2025 Spring is approaching (at least on this side of the planet, otherwise happy autumn), time for another one of these scheduled events.
This event will be on electro-music radio on Saturday March 22nd, 2025.
It will start somewhere around 15:00 GMT and end whenever it is over depending on the number of participants.
The schedule can be found in the wiki and threads to previous events can be found here.
As always, if you are interested in performing, please copy/paste this Sign-Up template and post in this thread:
1. Preferred Start Time (Please use GMT/Military Time):
2. Set Length (30 or 60 minutes):
3. Artist Name (For displaying on the poster):
4. Chat Name (if different from artist/forum name):
5. Location (City/State/Country - Optional):
6. Description (Style/Genre/Equipment, etc. - Optional):
7. Website Address (Optional):
8. Anything else you like to mention:
For reference, this clock could be useful:
First Time Streamers Please Read:
Please review the Electro Music Copyright Policy
Please note: "Preferred Start Time". We will do the best that we can to accommodate people to their requested times. However, please be flexible because this event will have European and American musicians in many different time zones. Time slots will be on a semi-"first come-first served" basis. Furthermore, please post your time in GMT. The handy clock should make it simple. However, we do use military/24 hour time. It will undoubtedly be an international event and GMT is the only way to coordinate such events.
As in the past, the chat room will serve as an invaluable communication tool for set up, streaming, and connecting to those listening....and it's just a lot of silly fun! I suggest participants get familiar with it in advance, if you aren't already.
If you want a recording of your set, it would be prudent to record your own set, rather than depend on others. Accidents and mistakes happen...especially in this format. There are many ways to record your set, either thru the stream app or record your stream from your mixer on the signal path to the computer.
Performers MUST stream at 128 kbps, 44.1 kHz , stereo.
more info about broadcasting on radio.electro-music.com can be found here.
It is IMPERATIVE that everyone test their connections before we start streaming. At least 24 hours before but sooner is preferred. Sorry, but we can not guarantee that musicians will be allowed to stream if you do not test 24 hours before hand. Not only does it delay the schedule, but causes unneeded stress on performer, server operator, and audience during performance time. Join the chat room for testing and help setting up.

1. Preferred Start Time (Please use GMT/Military Time): any time
2. Set Length (30 or 60 minutes): 60 minutes (or 30 if needed)
3. Artist Name (For displaying on the poster): Kevin Kissinger
4. Chat Name (if different from artist/forum name):
5. Location (City/State/Country - Optional): Leawood, KS USA
6. Description (Style/Genre/Equipment, etc. - Optional): Analog Modular, K2600, Wren
7. Website Address (Optional): kevinkissinger.com
8. Anything else you like to mention:
Creating Soundscapes in Real Time
The music will be entirely improvised, unfolding with seamless transitions between moods and tonalities. It’s designed to be immersive and evolving—engaging for deep listening yet fluid enough for an ambient experience.
Exploring Human-Machine Interaction
This performance continues my ongoing exploration of music where human input and machine processes work together to create something beyond what either could achieve alone.
Expanding Creative Possibilities
For this set, I’ll be using new control modules I’ve designed and built—microprocessor-driven quantizers, voltage mappers, and envelope generators—fully integrated into my modular analog synthesizer. I’ve also developed stand-alone MIDI processors that allow my hardware to seamlessly match the tonalities of my modular system and Wren, further bridging hardware and software synthesis.
Looking forward to sharing this journey with you during the live stream. Hope to see you there! _________________ -- Kevin

Dunno about usa times .. but did you take daylight saving in account?
There will again be confusion .. many confusions .. but i mean the confusian about time switching.
usa switched today, march 9 2025.
europe - i know that nowadays it merely is a fantasy entity meant to totaly fuck what is known in proper dutch as the 'je naait me steeds van amerika' and that it is about as existing as the gulf of mexico - but still - europe will switch to daylight saving time on the last sunday of march, which is march 30 in 2025.
And, as usual, the electro-music equinox event is inbetween those dates, and in our international context this usually will lead to some confsion about 'how late it is'.
When you have scripting enabled in your browser, and when your local clock is set to your local time, The wiki event page has a clock showing GMT UTC and your local time.

I was wondering about that, for now I just scheduled Twyndyllyngs at 22:00

It shows the wrong time for me in Firefox because of a security setting on my end but it works correct in Brave. _________________ "My perf, it's full of holes!"

[short version] indeed .. hmm .. and no idea why that would be ..
[long version] in my thoughts it should protect against sending fingerprint data to a/the server .. but the clock script does not send anything - except for a request for the script itself .. and that script acts locally only .. and also it loads the script anyway.
and btw setting privacy.resistFingerprinting.exemptedDomains to *.electro-music.com does not help [on the wiki, the one here uses the clock from bluehell.nl, but setting that domain excempt does not help either].
i did not see any clues on the mozilla support pages.
maybe someone else knows?
Edit : i did see something - https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1297208
So it is a bit of a simple way to avoid fingerprinting .. _________________ Jan

6. Description (Style/Genre/Equipment, etc. - Optional): laterna magica [one or more wren patches]
but i'm not sure yet about how to get _all_ those words in - we'll see
edit: about that _all_ bit ... kaija saariaho ended up with letting the orchestra whisper the words, for now i'll feed them to a speech synth. _________________ Jan

Heh, that's nice - still - might it be that there is a hidden unreadable case of 'maybe' in here which is causing you to desire less to be the first ... erm .. what was i going to say .. ah yes .. if you want to swap that'd be fine with me .. not swapping is fine too ... of course
I did put a Oum Kalthoum erm .. hell ... where did that ctrl_v come from .. i meant a ⭐ on you .. for testing .. and that should have been in the clipboard ... not that the lady would not be a ⭐ of course
