Hi everyone

I have build 1 ADSR v2 with r17 before.

I was planing to build 3 more.

What is the better option for the inverted output,
to install r17 or not?

And if i don't install r17, do i need to connect the holes with a strap?

Thanks,
Kike

Neither is "better", just depends on your system and how you want it to work.

With r17 the inverted output will be in the 0V to 10V range, without it the output will be 0V to -10V.

You could even put a switch to give you both options.

Don't replace it with a strap, that will kill the inverted output, just leave it empty if you don't use r17.

OK, but i don't quite understand what that means,
is it to much trouble to explain that with an example.

When I connect VCA or VCF to ADSR, I now that the signal is inverted but
what is the difference between two options.

I have only one and i can't try that before I make a least one more.

It means that in one case the inverted envelope will have a rest level set to 0V and then will go towards negative voltages (-10V) when the GATE is active, the second case (with R17) is having the rest voltage set to +10V and goes toward 0V when the GATE is active.

I was hoping someone would step in to explain that, thanks Yves Smile

Just to add to that, take a VCF being modulated by the ADSR as an example:
Without R17, the filter will start at the point set by the adjustment pot and close down from there when the ADSR is activated and open back up to that point when gate is released.

With R17, the filter will start opened up more than where it's set to by the pot, when the ADSR is activated it will close down TO the point set by the pot.

Practically speaking it doesn't make a whole lot of difference, you can usually end up with the same effect by setting the VCF pot higher in the first case and lower in the second case.

In the case of a VCA, if it's being used with audio using an inverted ADSR to control it is a bit odd since the audio will be normally on until the gate is activated, then the volume will go down.

Hi Guys,

I have also a question about this module...or generally about the LEDs in modules...

So, anyway. I've built the old and the new design aswell.
Old works like a charm, the new works too, with the fast/slow select switch, but the LED not working. I see on the schematic that I have t o adjust the 'k resistor to the desired brightness. Tried to install a 470 k, nothing happend.
Im running them on a +/-12V eurorack system. Could this be the problem?
For what value should I change that 1 k resistor now?

It is working, just...you know...I like LEDs Very Happy

On the component layout picture diode is turned wrong way.
I think that Yves didn't fix that yet. And I think you must turn the LED too.
I forget how i did that, but the problem is there

Could this be the problem with the SH too?
