Headphone Electrorgasms Subject description: What are some of the best albums to listen to on headphones? |
 |
|
I'm looking for albums that wrap your head up in sound, whether it be experimental, techno, house, or anything really. But I want them to be produced to perfection.
Examples:
Silent Arc- Kangding Ray
Immunity- Jon Hopkins
You Are Eternity- dabub
Theory of Machines- Ben Frost
Gute Luft- Thomas Fehlmann
Again, it could be the most original piece of music ever or your standard 4/4 techno record. As long as it's well produced. |

My favorite headphone albums may seem a little out of place on the electromusic forum, but I will put a few out there that show how varied my taste in music really is
Simon and Garfunkel greatest hits
Black Sabbath volume 4
Rush. Any album. The band that sparked my interest in the synth world. 2 Words, key pedals
Trans Siberian orchestra, the Christmas music this time of the year is awesome. I know a lot of people see them as sell outs. But there live show is worth putting on your bucket list. It's like you gave a bunch of great musicians a blank check and said get whatever you want to do a show.
I'm sure I don't need to mention Pink Floyd, the wall, or dark side of the moon.
If you use YouTube, try Tommy Knox anxiety. Just one song but awesome.
Monroeville, pot of gold. Another you tube song. I love this band. Opposite of electro music.
I really recommend at least checking out the last 2 on YouTube. Even if there not your style you will probably appriciate them |

Bucksworth. The haul alone album.
And check out there song thingsfoundwalkingwithyourheaddown. Is on YouTube.
I love this band. Again not electromusic but one of my favorites to listen to in the headphones.

Anything by AEJOTZ.
I use a lot of very pronounced stereo separation but especially on my tune "pan" which was an experiment in panning all the different parts at different rates.
When you listen with headphones it crawls all over your head.
You can hear "pan" right here at electromusic.com
