Suzuki Onnichord Help! Subject description: Help to restore a Venerable Omnichord back to service! |
 |
|
Hello to all!
I recently bought a Suzuki Omnichord. The person who sold it to me gave me the wrong connector. Instead of the 12 v I used a 9v.
It looks that this low voltage burned a resistor, the problem is, that the color bars in it now are not visible because it burnt.
I send some images of the instrument, and of the burnt part.
I can replace this part, the problem is that I don´t know the value of the resistor.
Does any one know the value so I can buy it and replace it? Any help would be very appreciated.
Thanks so much in advance!

Congrats on getting an omnichord too bad it burned which I don't think happened because of the low voltage,
only a higher voltage could have done that (so using 12 instead of 9). What I expect that happened here is that
you got the polarity reversed. It's usually marked on both the transformer and the device with a symbol that looks like this:
if that's what happened then I hope for you that a burned resistor is the only thing broken. As for the value,
it will probably be small, somewhere between 1...100 ohms but no way of telling without a schematic or another Omnichord. _________________ "My perf, it's full of holes!"
