Looks nice, what do we have?
Dual 8 step sequencers at the top?
In the middle below the commercial effects ...
a divider of some kind on the left?
an 8 to one MUX next?
another version of the thing on the left with more colours?
6 oscillators with sync and maybe voltage control inputs in the middle right?
A 3 input mixer?
The bottom row looks like it has a bunch of logic with another mixer on the right?
Do you have first noise yet? |

Thank you Steve,
Two 8 step sequencers at the top. Each have an internal clock, or can be switched to an external clock. I'll be darned if I can remember what the second switch on the left does without running the thing. Gotta be early Alzheimers. Just cut three more sequencer panels yesterday. A few years ago, I had three of them cascaded on the breadboard. If I recall, the reset signal came on the 9th step, but for some reason, I think I had to run all ten steps even though I was only actually using eight. Everything worked though. Will be breadboarding that again hopefully in a few weeks.
Mid row:
A clock divider. 4011 clock with hi or low speed capacitor select switch. Internal or external clock switch. 4040 divider. 4069 inverter. Green jacks for the normal steps, red is inverted from the green jack to the left.
Next is an 8-1 MUX
Another clock, same as the first.
Big blue panel is all six from a 40106, but its having issues. Need to troubleshoot it, or reduce it to four.
On the right is a three in passive mixer, leftover from the infamous pizza box.
Bottom row:
A pair of LFOs also from the pizza box. I still have the circuit board from the 555 oscilllator from the pizza box, but it was having issues, and I needed the jacks and switches for another module. I think it will be rebuilt. I saved the panel I cut for it after I remounted the circuits from the box.
The yellow panel is three oscillators from a 4049 iirc. It will output a triangle from the input side and square from the output. They each have a switch to feed a cv signal, a cap selection for hi/low speed and either the triangle or square output.
The multi colored module is just four Vactrols wired directly to the panel with an led to show the input signal to the LED in each vactrol.
Next is power in and out from a bench power supply. The outputs go to the breadboards. On off switch and an LED indicator.
Last is another 3 input passive mixer.
The brown effects rack is typical delay effects and the bottom is reverb.
The video I posted is straight from my iphone and the speakers in the shop. The audio in the video isnt that great. The computer/music room is at the other end of the house. When the weather starts getting cold, I will move it there and actually start recording and seriously start working with it. There is heat and air in the garage, but we leave the walk in door open so the dogs can get out of the weather. It was 85 degrees in there yesterday at one point, and it can get cold in the winter.
I have another 8-1 Mux to build next. A panel that will have four on/off switches 4013? Same layout and idea as the four vactrol panel. I cut three other panels yesterday besides the ones for the sequencers. One will be a 40409 osc, a pair of 4-1 MUX, and a logic gate panel.
I want to add a few logic gate panels also, except I need to go to the scrap yard to find some more sheet metal. The panels in the machine are from washer dryer lids and a microwave housing.
It was difficult to get any building done before we moved, as most of my tools were in a storage unit several miles away. I had tools in four different locations in two different counties. Now they are all in the garage, that I have to share with my wife's car. At least its a big garage. The problem is having a clear flat surface to work on. I had the electronics table cleared and ready to work on two years ago, and then had to fix a generator. There were a few other breakdowns that happened in rapid succession and I had tools and various mechanical parts everywhere!
Finding places to put almost four generations worth of tools is a problem also. Am slowly throwing away old parts and things that will never be repaired and is basically junk. Its amazing what my dad had saved, me too. My main workbench is always covered with too much stuff. |

The sound in the video sounds like interior of a 1960's UFO. Wicked! _________________ Horrors Of Dial-Up! on Facebook
